I also bought an Alesis synthesiser for my son, to go with a couple of his keyboards,
so he and I can do a bit of 'creating'... as per the one in this vid:

Presumably because they couldn’t pull it together on stage live?

Klaus Dinger and Michael Rother formed Neu! when they parted company with Kraftwerk - the term "Krautrock" was starting to gain a lot of steam in the early 70's.
I much preferred Neu! than Kraftwerk (and still do). The motorik drumming of Dinger and melodic guitar of Rother was a revelation.
Dinger passed away but Michael Rother has been playing in the UK recently:

It seems quite difficult to entertain the crowd with keyboards and/or laptop PC's.

Jon Hopkins injects a fair amount of excitement on his kit - I say "kit" because I haven't the foggiest what he uses.

Theyve got little 7” tablets now . Watch their favourite shows on them but thankfully not too much yet. They are interacting with each other recently and make up stories as theyre playing with their toys.

Yes. I see what you mean.

My thoughts are turning to Rick Wakeman now and King Arthur.

This is a concert that I attended back in the 70s... in my local cathedral .:)
