so my wife just booked her tickets to fly this Friday. Here the problem tho the card she used to pay for it was her payroll card. Now this wouldn’t normally be a issue but the airline wants her to bring the card with her when she checks in. To stop fraud. Now cause it’s a payroll account and it’s owned by the business. Has any one had issue with having to present the card they paid with?
I have had to do that flying from the UK occasionally. But with my own credit card. But yes, I had to present it at check in.
So she'll need to have a work colleague accompany her to the airport but that person will almost certainly not be allowed to enter the terminal since they don't have a ticket. Your wife checks in and then returns the card to her colleague who is waiting outside.
Contact Cathay Pacific to explain the situation and to ask what procedure you should follow. I once had several booking made with Malaysia Airlines, and Garuda Indonesia, then my card was replaced by a new one. I contacted both airlines, one said it would not matter, the other said they would put a note on my file. I printed out both e-mail responses to take with me just in case. Taking a photocopy of the card and a covering letter on company headed paper might help.
Cause we closed her main accounts. (Foolish error on our end) Regarding the situation we spoke with the company they will allow her to keep her card and they will terminate the account in 1 week times
That's a new one for me I must say , I've booked dozens of flights for myself , and some for my gf , and never been asked to produce it at check in . I recently booked her a flight on Cathay Pacific , on my credit card , so she certainly won't be able to show that ?
Ok so my wife just informed me she booked the tickets but she missed her middle name but put her given name and her surname on. Will this effect the flight at all?
Normally it has to match exactly what is on her passport, and for a Philippine passport that will usually be three names.
Yep theres 4 names kn here passport 2 given names and her last name which are on the passport but she didn’t put her middle one on cause there no slot for it.
Everything is getting stricter these days I recently asked Lufthansa to change the name on my 20 year old "Miles & More" frequent flyer card from "Dave" to "David", I had to fax them a signed copy of my passport before they would oblige. Gone are the days when "David" and "Dave" were interchangeable on a flight ticket.
Middle name is unimportant. Cathay Pacific absolutely will not give a damn about that. Correct first name and correct last name is sufficient. Lots of hyperbole (due to the Ryanair effect) about what is and isn't acceptable.
Regarding the name on the tickets , I've very rarely been asked to show them at check in . My passport is the only thing they want to see .
I eemember being a bit worried about this when my wife moved here as I had paid for the Cathay flight so she never had the card. In the end, they never asked for it at check in.
