Hi guys, I am really confused about this whole financial requirement.

I am aware that it needs to be £18,600 at least. In my situation, I have two jobs; a full time and a part time. As I was looking at the application form, Appendix 2, question 3.11 - What is my annual income from this employment before tax? For my full time job, the starting salary is £15,100 but the salary scale is from £15,100 - £17, 800.

So, here's the confusing bit. What do I put on that question? The £15,100 alone or the whole salary scale? With the £15,100 that's only the contracted hours multiplied by my hourly rate, multiplied by 52weeks and that's without any overtime or enhancements.

I have calculated what my total income (before tax) in the whole 12 months and it exceeds the financial requirement as I have worked more than my contracted hours and have a lot of enhancements as well. And would my P60 be any help to prove that I have met this requirement?

I know it's confusing but I would really appreciate if anyone could give me an answer, please? Thanks!

    Hi,
I would put on the form what you actually earned and if the amounts on your bank statements tally, you should have exceeded the required amount.

Hi @aposhark - Thank you. It makes sense now. I'm probably just making it too complicated for myself.

Hi @Peat! It is a tricky bit to apply for a general visitor visa for her especially if you guys are already married AND she will be traveling back with you to the UK. You both need to prove greatly that she has strong ties here in the Philippines to compel her to come back. But that's not to say it is impossible to be granted one. There isn't any financial requirements whatsoever. UKVI didn't specify any. But when I applied for the general tourist visa, I supplied all of my bank certificates and statements of past six months, certificate of employment and payslips of past six months, stocks, land registry/title deeds, etc. So even though I said I will go to the UK to visit my fiance, they approved my application coz I was able to prove through my docs that I will come back. I also think it helped that I have a good travel history outside of the Philippines.

You providing docs will also help a lot. Some of the lads here provided supporting letters which stated how they will support their ladies financially whilst in the UK and that they will personally drop them off at the airport on their flight back to the Philippines.

Good luck with your application and do ask away if you need help with it!

I/we are hoping to live in the Philippines.
The reason for her returning with me to the UK would be to help me to sell up and sort things out.She has very strong reasons to return to the Philippines: her little daughter, her home ,her family, her business, and some land she owns .
