"Double-dead meat" is what Filipinos call meat that is taken from an animal that has died from disease.

Stu.... First the Jeepney or car or motorbike hits it and it appears to be dead....But its not always the case...Then a Filipino pulls it by its hind legs into the verge and kills it properly with a bolo..
There you have it...Double dead meat!

Yeah but road kill can lay in the UK for literally hours giving off C02 ,causing green house gases before its picked up and removed...
Here its gone within minutes....Skinned, butchered, cooked and devoured in about an hour and washed down with a liter of Tanduay or Redhorse..
    Job done!

****For the word 'washed', the word 'disinfected' can be substituted.

Fortuna (Spanish brand) is my carcinogen of choice usually, but in the Phils, it was the Yankee Baccy.

Serious thought will be given to givin' them up in October (please don't say Stoptober - the recent propensity for joined together words makes my teeth grind in frustration - Movember, staycation etc.)

Not for the health benefits necessarily, but for the fact that giving up would pay for a cracking holiday in Ilocos Norte next autumn)

If I depended on savings from giving up smoking over here..It would take me 6 months for a return flight from Bohol to Manila.

    Packet of fortuna (29) = 5.90 x 365 = 2153.5

Two return flights to Manila just after New Year 900 euros
    Flights to Ilocos 120 euros

I no longer indulge but the wife and I are definitely in a minority group - everyone and their dog smokes here in Malta. But here's the thing: apparently cigs are only available from vending machines and there's no prices marked. These machines seem to take notes only. Possibly those that have their origins in sub-Saharan faecal matter cost €5 whilst proper fags are a tenner but the brands seem to be mainly Italian. No Capstan Full Strength or Players Weights although you can buy dinky Sobranies in pastel shades from the airport duty free. If you're so inclined.

Kin ell....How long??------hopefully lost on our filipina ladies . lol

gave up smoking 20 years ago. a week in intensive care after a heart attack convinced me.

what i subsequently discovered was---i had naturally very high cholestrol ( hyperlipodaemia ). now---in cigarette smoke is--carbon monoxide---which just loves high cholestrol. so its carbon monoxide poisoning through smoking that nearly got me.
