Welcome back to 1979 when the Prime Minister was a (Tory) lady, the Labour Party was led by a left-winger popular only with his activists and the prospect for at least three terms of Tory government spanning a couple of decades.

Corbyn may have marginally increased his majority over the gaff-prone hapless Owen Smith:

but being popular only with one's activists isn't an election-winning formula; you'd have thought that Labour would have leaned that lesson first time around.

After 116 proud years, the Labour Party may finally be extinct.

Very sad, we now have no serious political party to keep the Tories in check, JC may be well supported by his own party but that is irrelevant, he needs to have the support of the Labour voters which he has obviously lost.

The Labour party will now keep rolling further down the hill until it hits the final bump and splits.

Owen Smith was the "anyone but Corbyn" candidate but the policies he put forward were identical to Corbyn's except in one respect: unlike Corbyn he wants the British people to reconsider Brexit. I think one can only feel contempt for the 117 Labour MPs who took part in the no confidence in Corbyn as leader vote yet none of whom had the guts to stand against him.

There'll be in-fighting a-plenty within the party but as for an effective Opposition, none at all.

I'm wondering whether May will take this lack of a serious opposition as a good time to call a General Election just so she cannot be accused of ruling without a proper mandate. I think she knows that she will be pushed as the terms of our exit from the EU become clearer.

No, her job is to ensure that the UK stands strong outside the EU.

People have had enough of the b*llsh*t libtard politics.

I see 1042 people mistook toilet paper for ballot paper.

I must admit, I wondered about that, were they trying to make a point? :)

A real pity the Labour party has ended up in this mess, I must say I never saw it coming.
