I always suffer from Jet lag flying from the UK to Asia, never so bad flying home.

Five days ago I arrived in Kuala Lumpur, I still cannot sleep till about 5:00 in the morning, and after I do get to sleep I have great difficulty dragging myself out of bed in time for a late Brunch.

    Help... :(

I get it bad both ways.

I was wanting to go to Aldi at 4.30 this morning, but they don't open til 10am on a Sunday. :(

At least I got my washing done at midnight. :)

I never get jet lag flying to Asia and back, but I always get jag lag flying from the west coast of the US to the UK.

Strange how it affects us all differently.

Suffered my first jet lag on my first flight to the UK. 14 hours direct flight from Manila. Didn't get any sleep on the plane at all as I'm not comfortable and worried at the same time. Couldn't recover for days after arriving in the UK.:cry:

i find I'm ok going out to Philippines, but for me its the problem when I get back.
the first time I came back I was awake around 4.30am, left manila around 1pm and I arrived back home in uk around 1 am I didn't sleep on the flight and i didn't sleep til the following night, but also for probably around two weeks after I kept waking up really early like 3/4am , but then falling asleep early, was difficult with work tbh as I do a lot of overtime doing emergency callouts.

If you can get enough sleep and it can be timed correctly, like arriving in Pinas at say 7am and youve got substantial sleep on the way can help.

Remembering my first flight to Pinas I couldn't sleep anyhow, too excited :) I remember getting on the plane and chuckling to myself, couldn't believe I was flying to other side of the planet to meet someone for the first time, surreal.

I normally fly direct with PAL so they leaving Heathrow normally between 10-11pm so normally I find I can sleep little bit, as on the day I try get up early maybe around 5am to book in on line and choose a seat, then go to work for a while then get home and drive down to heathrow to try tire myself out to hopefully sleep on plane lol

I flew back from Thailand to the UK a couple of weeks ago, no problems with jetlag.

My flight left Bangkok at mid-day, and I arrived home just after 10:00 at night.

The usual routine, quick shower, new clothes, and a brisk walk to the local pub to de-stress myself.

Slept like a log and woke up at about 7:00 the next morning feeling fully refreshed. :like:

I just can't handle flying the other way.

Generally people are affected by jet lag more going east as you are going "against" the day than going west when you are going "with" the day. With work in the past I've generally found the only way I can deal with it is to try to power through the day and sleep that night. People say stay hydrated etc but I generally find a few beers or a bottle wine etc helps. I'll normally wake up early for the first few days but after that it gets better. Oh yes they eating a couple of bananas as soon as you land helps, I believe its something to do with potassium levels.

I always make sure to adjust my sleeping whilst still in the plane.

I don't really get jetlags, but maybe because I'm young.
