For me personally its the fact that you are not in control of the annulment and you are reliant on other people who you cannot necessarily trust to get the job done.
also--in our case--my-now wife--filed for divorce here in the UK back in 2012 when she lived here on a student visa. grounds were 5 years separation--no consent needed. it was unopposed and went through--no problem. cost about £1000. a lot of debate then ensued both on here and another forum. opinion was--that as she had a UK divorce this HAD to be accepted by the UKVI--and that we should apply for a fiancee visa without bothering with annulment. BUT--if it was successful---how could she get that damned CFO sticker---she would need to prove her singleness in the philippines--so we decided to get an annulment. also--without it--if she ever returned to the phillis--she could have been in trouble. another idea was to apply for the visa from another country--without the annulment--purley to circumvent the CFO--but then the problem would arise if she went home on a visit at some future date. so all in all--it cost us about £2000 and 15 months separation and heartache.
absolutely. and--in our case the judge didnt turn up at court--on 3 occasions--wasting another 3 months of our time together.
Its a joke it really is, our annulment has been on going for around 18 months now, its more or less finalized and just needs signing off by the Judge in Davao. Unfortunately he was shot at on his way home and has not returned to work since. So we are now in Limbo awaiting his return to work
That's a pain in the backside, I hope that can get another judge to take over the case. Just wouldn't happen in the UK, a judge getting shot on the way home.
Yes I kinda understood that several on here were involved in the annulment process. Still don't really understand how a marriage can be annulled on the grounds that it was never consummated, especially if there are children as a result of the union. It certainly complicates things, especially if the judge gets shot...........
I suspect a gentle word in Inday Sara's ear might result in a resolution in the form of a new judge being appointed
Sara Duterte is a very pleasant, highly-approachable woman who towers above her colleagues in every sense. I am sure that if she can help, she will.
I just recently got my annulment. Yay! It is a long a tedious process. Mine took 4 years and I was the one who fixed all the NSO documents afterwards. I wouldn't recommend my lawyers though because they stressed me out. You may file the annulment in the court of the city where she or her husband currently resides. It cost about £3000-4000. Make sure to hire a good lawyer (preferably someone who knows someone at the family court in the city where you are going to file it.). Good luck!
hi--welcome to the site---please stick around--others are always interested in any information about annulment.
Hello Timmers I would really appreciate contact details of your attorney in Manila, soon. My girlfriend has travelled yesterday all the way from eastern samar, only to be told a much higher price than she was told before.
Could yuo also please let meknow how much they charged you and what time period they will take to conclude
I have consulted 4 law firms regarding annulment, 3 of them costs 250,000 PHP while the other one is 350,000 PHP only for the acceptance fee. I have signed the contract already with Montano Flamiano & Associates, acceptance fee is 180,000 PHP, hearing fee is 5,000 per appearance ( 6 to 8 appearances ) but the client only needs to appear once, the others will be the lawyer only. Filing fee 5,000 PHP, Psychologist appointment 25,000 PHP if your grounds is psychological incapacity. I have read a lot of good reviews about this firm, hoping for my annulment to be successful.
Based on the lawyers, agreement or cooperation by the husband is not allowed. I just have to give them his residential address then the court will notify him, whether he appears or not, it won’t be a problem, it’s also very rare that the other party appears on the day of the hearing. 4 lawyers, same answers so I think it’s true. My husband has a girlfriend which he refers to as ‘wife’ now so this is also in favor for him.
