After divorcing his wife 15 years ago this poor chap finds himself back in court and is ordered to up his ex wife's allowance as I will call it from £1100 a month to £1441 because she unable to meet her basic needs.

Bloody ridiculous, once you have divorced and a settlement is made that should be that.

i think its because he currently pays her maintenance.

i had a clean break agreement. i paid her a lump sum. but i think my ex could still try her luck in the future--but it cuts both ways---she has 2 pensions--i have one.

When you read about this type of instance it always seems to be the chap that is shafted and not the woman.

The chap in the article had been divorced 15 years and deserves the chance of a new family life.

The judge should have told the woman to get a job.

This is why you should marry a good-looking woman... like my ex. :D

She was soon snapped up and married again. Our son came to live with me... and still does so.

Re-marry and then put her in the pudding club. No ex in the world can touch you then haha

This is very sexist so I apologise in advance...

Stay sweet and love each other unconditionally :) OR if you no longer love each other, 'Bugger Off' and don't harass  as simple as that! ;) :D

on balance--i would think a monthly maintenace payment of £1100 is far higher than "average"---which suggests the ex husband is well off---and could easily afford the additional.

daftest case scenario--if ex's couldnt go back for more---would be the ex wife on benefits--whereas the former husband might well be a millionaire.
