Its a pity that they did not meet in their younger days, the problem now with boxing is that fighters avoid worthy opponents and there are too many variations of the boxing world titles.

Its an enormous money making machine, pay per view as seen to that.

Interesting that they are talking about the fight to be staged in Dubai, a large British and Filipino community to say the least.

Yep definitely different times now and everyone in the process wants to cash in on the fight. Like you say if they were a bit more in their prime it would have been better.

They know each other inside the ring perfectly well..Probably sparred 30-40 50 times at Roach`s gym..

Regardless..Manny will knock Khan clean out..
There are far better opponents for Pacquio IMO.

Who? That Aussie guy, Jeff Horn?

I think Khan would be a great fight. You can guarantee that a Khan fight will not be boring, You cannot say the same of Mayweather, and some of Pacquiao's recent boughts (vs Bradley zzzzzz).

If Khan could keep his chin away from danger, I think he beats Pacquiao v.2017 quite comfortably. Pacquiao would gain my respect if he took that fight rather than the easy option against the Aussie sheep farmer.

He should be fighting someone like Canelo Alvarez ,Terence Crawford or Kell Brook... You will soon get bored when he chins Khan and knocks him out sparko.

    Whichever way you lo
Even if Khan was to win, we would just say he would never have beaten Manny in his hay day.

Makes you wonder why the vast majority of boxers box until they are an embarrassment, is it the money or is it their ego?

I hate boxing, my father was an amateur boxer both in the army and before and after the war (WWII), I still have many of his trophies he won quite a few Scottish competitions.

It damages people and that is the very simple reason I hate it, in a way I think I have a view that it damages the audience as well.

He was also a table tennis champion in Scotland that was a much better sport to my mind, but I grew up with the effects of the boxing and the war and it was not pleasant :(

Khan is a very good fighter and if he had a decent chin he could have been great. But he hasn't got a decent chin and gets flattened every time he fights someone decent.

The only hope he has against Pacquiao is if Manny is completely shot - and there are signs that he is! So it's by no means a foregone conclusion. But you have to go with Manny Pacquiao to knock him out.

Massive Manny fan, one of the most exciting brawlers in a generation. Real raging bull. Khan is dust I'm afraid.

I was thinking the other day when it was on the news about heading a football being bad for your health, having your head constantly pummelled throughout a boxing career must take a hell of a toll on the old grey matter, the boxers who get away scott free are lucky in my opinion.

I see absolutely no point in boxing whatsoever, never have and I guess I will go to my grave detesting it!

This will be an intriguing, well-matched fight which should go the distance and could go either way. I disagree that Manny will knock Khan out. As he's gone up in weight he's not really carried the strength with him. The last time he achieved a KO was back in 2009.

People also underestimate Khan's chin. It's not as bad as made out. He took Marcos Maidana's best shots, and he's a renowned heavy hitter. Khan has this slightly unfair reputation for a glass chin because when he does go down it really is lights out. BUT it's only happened three times in a 35 fight career.

Khan has fought 11 former, current or future world champions and was robbed in the fight with Lamont Peterson. I can't see either fighter knocking anyone out at welterweight.

Unlike many other boxers who protect their records by avoiding the best fighters in their class or waiting until they are some way past their best Khan has actively sought out tough fights and I don't remember him being in a dull one.

Both boxers are renowned for their speed and questionable defence skills. Pacquiao of 2008 - 2012 would destroy Khan but he has slowed down over the past few years and Khan now has the edge in that department. If Amir can keep Manny at a distance he should win it but if Manny can stay close to Khan's chest then it should go his way.

Khan reportedly dropped Pacquiao several times in sparring when they were both trained by Freddie Roach but you cannot read too much into that as you are trying different things in sparring, some will work, some won't - that's how you learn.

It will be interesting to see where the fight takes place. Dubai looks to be the preferred option. I anticipate a split or majority decision, possibly even a draw. If the fight takes place in the UK and it goes to points AK will win by a landslide going on recent incidents of home-cooking...

Amir Khan offers best chance for Pacquiao to end KO-less drought, analyst says.
Khan has glass jaw, points out Principe
MANILA — Manny Pacquiao may finally get the knockout victory that has eluded him for years when he exchanges shots with Amir Khan.

Khan, a former unified light-welterweight world champion, is known for having a weak chin, which is why Pacquiao’s camp decided to pick him for a May 20 fight date, according to fight analyst Dennis Principe.

“As good as he is, skills-wise, Amir Khan, is one of the few fighters na mayroong glass jaw,” Principe told ABS-CBN News.

The fight commentator said Khan has decent power, impressive hand speed and footwork, but could not find a remedy for his malleable mandible.

As a result, 3 of Khan's career defeats came by way of knockout. In fact, in his most recent fight in May 2016, he got dropped by Saul "Canelo" Alvarez with a right hand to the jaw.

This presents an opportunity for Pacquiao to end his knockout drought. The last time the Filipino superstar stopped a fighter was when he halted Miguel Cotto in 2009.

“I think gusto nila si Amir because there is that great chance to finally score a knockout,” said Principe.

A stoppage win could put Pacquiao back into the equation with Floyd Mayweather Jr. who could come out of retirement anytime.

“It is apparent hindi naman talaga totally retired si Floyd for him to talk about a possible match with Conor McGregor,” Principe said.

Another drawback for Khan is that he used to train under Freddie Roach, the same coach who developed Pacquiao.

Principe said Roach should know all the loopholes in Khan’s game.

“Alam ni Freddie Roach 'yung iba pang weakness so it would be very, very tough for Amir Khan to win this fight. He may give Manny some trouble for a first few rounds, pero eventually 'yung kanyang glass chin, napakalaking disadvantage 'nun,” Principe said
