Not sure how the UKVI can justify the increase for the ILR, as you know the form is short and there must be less effort for the UKVI to process the application.

I think they have put the cost up because they know its the last opportunity for them to rob you blind :)

Yep agreed. The citizenship ceremony only 85 + 5. There are no real financial requirements either for ILR. Its all wrong!

Well there's always citizenship of course. Let's face even, even a less useful non-EU British passport will still be more use than a Filipino one so it's worth getting. :)

    Is Citizenship only 90 quid?

I just had a look. I think ut's over 1000. The 90 quid looks like it's an extra fee for a child who turns 18 during the process.

It is :( I searched citizenship on the pdf and found the 80 + 5. As Tim says, the actual £1,233 payment is called naturalisation.

I don't think the government will be curbing non EEA settlement visas anytime soon . What other fees income is jacked up 25% each time. Cash cow.

Ouch! Thanks for the info @Dav3&Ai5a
We will do it tonight, in hoping not to pay the increase for 2 applicants.

Spouse visa from outside UK will have £269 increase. If I pay fees BEFORE 6th April but visa appointment is AFTER 6th April, which fees will be applicable to me?

I look at it like this, you will pay the amount asked for at the time of application, it is up to the UKVI to update their pay services which I'm sure they will midnight tomorrow.

If you pay before the 6th of April then you will be fine, its good if it fits your plans and schedule.

We will do our application tomorrow as well under the UK immigration route, we will not be using the eea route anymore.

Our scheduled application for flr would be on Thursday (6 April) with the help of the solicitor this time but the solicitor's office rang this morning to do it tomorrow instead. So, we won't be affected by the abrupt change.

    Finger's crossed.

I hope all goes well with the application, I know everything has not been straight forward for you.

Thanks Timmers. If granted, I'll work hard to pay for my next flr in the next 2.5 years, so it won't be a burden for hubby anymore. By that time, I would be confident to do the application myself. Or else, another ££££ for the solicitor.....

I'm sure it is not seen as a burden by your husband paying for the visa, I just joke about it here on the forum, in fact I was just pulling my wife's leg about it earlier as we are now in a hotel just around the corner from the UKVI office. I said to her "shall we discuss how you will be paying for this visa?"

She says she will pay for the visa in kindness instead of hard cash, so kindness it will be :)

Worth every penny you girls are :)

Lol...Hubby might do the same. I will pay him with kindness as well. He didn't expect that the UK immigration route is really expensive and is renewable every 2.5 years.

He said in jest, "A tiny Filipino like you is very expensive." Lol . I told him, "That's the downside of falling in love with a tiny creature like me." :)

He also said that I should have applied through the UK Immigration route in the beginning, so there would be no problems on the extension of my visa.

I told him, "It's been done and there's nothing we can do about it anymore. Just focus on the brighter side of this journey and remember we were once lucky because we saved a grand on the first application." :)
