    Don't be.

I truly loathe Mrs May, Michael Gove, Boris Johnson, David Davies and Iain Duncan-Smith, and my local MP is one of Mrs May's bosom buddies. There is not the slightest chance of Corbyn being able to put through a Trotyskyite programme - his own back benchers would not stand for it and the snap election means that Momentum have been unable to put through their deselection programme in the Labour constituencies. I would really like to see a Government that depended on LibDem and SNP and Green support.

Mrs May has proven herself to be a complete disaster as a leader and without a doubt she will lose this election which she made all about her - "elect me, elect me"; Britain does not go in for Presidential-type elections, we vote for parties. Foolishly she has been listening to her two closest advisers, Fiona Hill and Nick Timothy, whom she brought with her from the Home Office and has obviously not followed the advice of Sir Lynton Crosby who has a proven record of success.

I'm resigned to a Corbyn-led government whose key figures are so supportive of terrorism (and lie about it) and whose Home Secretary has indicated she will close down GCHQ and MI5. The economy will tank and Britain may even end-up being the new Greece (okay, maybe the new Italy or Spain), but hey, as a pensioner I'll be a bit better off thanks to you tax-payers' increased contributions. There will of course be at least 18 months of economic uncertainty whilst Corbyn flip-flops over Brexit negotiations which will come to nothing and Britain doesn't actually leave (cue whoops of joy from the 22%). Meanwhile the unions, nationalisation, higher Corporation Tax, VAT and other taxation will lead to capital flight, a significant drop in private investments, increased borrowing, millions unemployed, and inflation the likes of which we haven't witnessed since Wilson's premiership. Remember the three-day week? I do. Happy now?

What a silly and offensive response.

Look about you: the economy is already tanking. the growth rate has already collapsed, despite the Wilson-level devaluation of Sterling and we are already seeing capital flight. All on the basis of Mrs May getting re-elected and carrying on with her ruinous and economically illiterate policy of BREXIT.

    It is an undeniable fact.
None of them have the interests of the UK at heart but the slow division and sense of unity.
If you are feeling offended I am sorry it was not the intention.
But I confess that I feel pride in living and contributing in the UK. And would help defend it. Just as much as I would Italy.

Relax Andrew, Brexit won't happen. But Britain will be punished by the EU for daring to consider leaving. You can expect the remaining vetoes to be lost and loss of the rebates Thatcher fought for.

And here is Andrew thinking he is the only one who can respond in a silly offensive manner.

People's views only Andrew, don't be getting upset when someone has the audacity to post a fact

On a brighter note JC confirmed last night he would make it easier for uk nationals to reunite with their foreign partners, or words to that effect.

    That's good news surely ???

Its only good news if he gets into 10 Downing street which as you know is very unlikely.

I didn't see the debate - neither Sky nor Channel 4's output is relayed here - but that's a small part of his overall policy to open Britain's borders to all-comers. Nobody will need a visa to come to Britain and therefore there'll be no need for the Borders Agency or Border Force. What he won't reveal, however, is what will happen to the thousands of Home Office staff who'll be made redundant as a result.

    Very true.

I'm fearful of a Labour Government at this time for the first time in my life, my personal opinion is that the UK would go into meltdown under JC, I do not believe he can handle Brexit or the security of the country let alone the economy.

This will be the first time I have ever voted Tory in my life.

You didn't miss anything Mark as you have probably gathered from reading the news, no big surprises no big hitters.

One thing did stand out and that is Jeremy Paxman has lost his touch which is understandable of course given he has not taken part in anything like this for quite a while.

Well he did say it would be controlled immigration, while protecting the foreign nationals working here now and our own overseas workers. There is a skill shortage in this country, he said, and we need the foreign labour who can provide those skillsets.

The Home Office staff who have sat on a set of requests for Category 5 approvals for armed guards for British flag ships since February, without either replying to emails or indeed answering the telephone (and this is in the Head Office of the Home Office, not some outpost) resulting in two of the ships that I manage having to sail through Somali waters without approved armed guards on board, this week, cannot be made redundant soon enough for me.

Whilst school-leavers will enjoy a life on the dole and, since we're talking about a pro-union government, will be made to join the soon-to-be-founded National Union of Benefit Claimants and State Scroungers.

Unacceptable I agree but likely to be a civil service inefficiency issue rather than a political decision.

Oh, for sure, but who was in charge of the Home Office for six years during which time such a culture of sloppiness and laziness was allowed to take root, who insisted that the Home Office must approve all firearms carrying personnel on British ships, and who insisted on control of all Passport issues and went on to a complete mess of it? I think she's a politician..
