Nah measure rice, wash it, chuck it in this thing, add water and leave for about 20 minutes, perfect every time Sadly Tefal don't make this model any more and the more modern replacements are terrible in comparison.
Yeah that's the best kind to get, I've had mine for 11 years and used regularly , it's getting a bit tatty now but still works, I would by a new one but they ruined all the models after this one by trying to do to many things in the one device, mine cooks rice perfectly in about 20 minutes, that's from the moment you push the start button, people complain that the newer ones all take 40 minutes or more which is ridiculous for rice.
