Ok show us the list, I'm not doing the research this time, I already did a general scan so I have my own opinion on the 'scale' of this particular issue.
Here's two I found within a couple of minutes: One, Two and both by the same person. Maybe only two but ...
I would like to post more about he Philippines but I haven't been there for some years and my wife and family are in the UK now. The Philippines becomes very important in many peoples' lives when they meet their partner and also whilst going through the visa process but the importance recedes as time progresses. I think the importance of the Philippines continues for many people whilst they are courting or are married without children but, for me anyway, having children in the UK dictates how infrequently we can visit the land of my wife. It is expensive to fly there as a family and I am presuming many other people on this forum have similar financial restrictions.
Yes I found number one too, arguably in the correct place as it is about movement and visa's. And number two is in the news section, given that it is a news story well that appears to be a valid place for it as well, also number two has no replies. Keep going, illuminate us.
One You immediatly replyed to and it is very pertinant to those of us dependent on European Visas similarly when you posted this thread in the same forum catergory http://www.british-filipino.com/index.php?threads/eu-freedom-of-movement-rights.12148/#post-105701 Two is a piece of UK news from a cabinet source Be careful with candles and what you wish for on your Birthday Tommorow
Couldnt agree more Mike we are both working and a visit to the Fils will have to wait on my part till the Missus & Nipper have there British Passports which theoretically is after April 2019 unless she wants to go alone I personally wouldnt consider less than a month which limits it to the summer holidays 2K for flights is a big expendature I would rather go to Portugal
The missus has recently been over there by herself for three weeks, Keith, which made me feel very proud of her. I am the only one working outside the home at present too.
My wife visited for 3.5 weeks back in April this year. Just her and the young girl. She found it tough going. Fortunately she travelled with a friend and her little boy on the way out, which helped. She really enjoyed her time in the Philippines as it is rare that we visit. But disliked the travelling.
My wife didn't enjoy her three weeks over there very much, Bowler. Her island was too hot and there was so much noise from the roosters and the hubel-hubels! She has become too used to the quiet at night and the cooler weather of the UK.
I think it was mainly because she could see her family, enjoy a Jollibee and show off the littlun a bit.
Just going back to the OP, which I realise is a long time ago but I've been in Great Yarmouth which is just south of the 1970s, I tend to go on the Times comments sections. Its very similar to a forum apart from that each day there are new thread topics.
She went by herself and I stayed at home looking after our two kids as it was term time! The main reason was to see her family after four years and to get her hair re-bonded. Mums need a rest too!
It is your impartial advice and helpful stories, based on your experiences in the Philippines that are of value to other members.
