Hello, I read some of the forums about same sex marraige or civil partnership but our situation remain questionable.I would like to ask regarding same sex marraige or civil partnership in british embassy in manila. We are a same sex couple and a filipino citizen. My partner is currently in uk under the tier 2 visa and we had a 3 year relationship now. We lived together for 1 year and 2 year long distance relationship. For being in a long distance relationship its quite hard for both of us and I want to be with my partner in uk.Since we are a filipino citizen, We would like to know if a same sex couple like us can get married in uk embassy in manila?
I’m mis-reading your post I think but one of the partners has to be British to avail of marriage in the British embassy.
I want to visit her or to be with her in uk. Since she is not a british citizen and holding a tier 2 visa. What type of visa can you recommend
a standard visit visa. you need to demonstrate a convincing need to return to the philippines at the end of your proposed visit.
The UKBA guidelines on visit visas stipulate 2 main points. You have sufficient funds to pay for the cost of your trip, enough money for accomadation and money to cover expenses ie food for the duration of the trip. Also that you can show good reason you will return home at the end of your visa. Visit visas are very difficult to obtain as the Filipino has a history of overstating in the UK. Good Luck
