I was 29 when I first visited the Philippines and 46 now. So what. What has that, got to do with anything. The average age of visitor to the Philippines is still substantially higher than in Thailand - at least 10 years, and maybe 15 years higher.

even if you factor in that almost no young families with children visit the Philippines because they think that it is too dangerous and has crap medical, the food is rubbish, everyone says the service sucks, the infrastructure is crap, and it is overpriced, whilst Thailand gets millions of families with children, even if you were to ignore that, and even if you forget all the children, and only counted the over 18s, the average age of the tourists to the Philippines would still be substantially higher than Thailand. There is more younger tourists to the Philippines than before - a 'backtracker trail' has developed now in the Philippines which wasn't there before, with it being basically Dumaguete-Bohol-Siquijor plus the odd place like the Siargao surfers island which is where this happened. But compared to Thailand-Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam, the Philippines still gets a miniscule amount of younger visitors. The average age of tourists to the Philippines must be at least 10 years older even among just the over 18s. That should be obvious to anyone.
