there are just few Filipino items that I would possibly want to buy, and certainly not Red Horse. The few Filipino items that I do like, but which aren't available in the UK in normal east Asian shops, such as the McKormick Carbonara and Herb and Garlic sachet sauces, I know already that I won't be able to get them, so I just bring maybe 10-12 40 peso packets from the Philippines. Even some items that I do like, which ARE available in normal east Asian shops such as the Ajinimoto Chicken Fry breading mix, I bring them over too, on the grounds of expense. They are much cheaper in the Philippines than in east Asian shops in the UK.

no bulky items like sauces in bottles in the Filipino style, I would possibly want to buy. The other east Asian sauces are much superior to Filipino ones.

I do always bring a lot of 3 in 1 coffee sachets, also not bulky, over though. Not because they are especially good - they aren't. It's just that if you drink a lot of instant coffee on the move out of a thermos flask, it costs less than half in the UK if you bring them over from the Philippines.

You are having a laugh!

    200g spaghetti
    3 rashers streaky bacon, chopped.
    1tbsp olive oil
Half tsp coarsely ground black peppercorns
    4 egg yolks
    2 tbsp grated parmesan
    Sea salt.

    :like:

Just don't scramble the egg yolks, add to the cooked pasta and stir "off" the heat!

of course I know how to make a Carbonara sauce although I would use a different recipe to that. I know how to make a breading mix for fried chicken a bit like Ajinimoto's too, it is not as if it is difficult. It's just convenience. Some Filipino products I like, and those are two of them. The McCormick powders are easy to use, you can just put them in the bottom of a bowl or plastic container, just add pasta and it tastes fine, another easy meal to have on the hoof like the 3 in 1 coffees where you can just put the hot pasta in a thermos-type container, add the Carbonara, Pesto, or Herb and Garlic powder 3 hours later, plus maybe a salad and hey presto you have a hot meal that costs about 60 pence.
