That first one is I think a Breton Celtic tune, thanks for that I've never known who had a version of that, heard it many times on the radio and TV but had no idea who was playing it :)

Folk has a very wide definition these days, Chris Difford turned up on the Monday and did an acoustic set of songs from Squeeze :D

I've been going to Folk clubs since my late teens although I had not been to anything for many years until last summer, Shrewsbury is a great festival I'm going back this year again, my friend Norrie lives there and I stay at his place for the festival weekend, he's a member of CAMRA and basically knows everyone, you walk around the festival with him and he's stopping talking to someone every minute, he knows all the people running the beer :D

edit: Just checked and it looks like it is maybe just Breton style the credits are given to Patrick Street. Ah no it was written by Arthur Jeffes in 1982.

I've always done a lot of photography at folk gigs, still have shots of one night when Billy Connolly turned up at Paisley Folk Club at the Silver Thread hotel to help out on the 21st anniversary of the club I think.

If it is the Patrick Street version, there is another rendition on the 11th track of the album, that is the more traditional one you will hear on the tele.
