    Hi everyone,

I have been updating Windows 10 in my laptop since yesterday then it just stopped at 99%? Does anyone experienced this before and any advice what to do please?

Difficult to know what to do in such circumstances.

Waiting a bit longer will do no harm, these things often sort themselves out given time.

Has it completed yet, and if not, how many hours has it been processing?

I had major problems with windows 10 upgrade, kept getting stuck. You can defer the updates on certain builds you need to go into settings. I ended up with all my data files wiped out and had to reinstall. Went back to windows 7.

I'm sticking with Win 7 thanks. It was bad enough having to give up simple , but functional old XP (and my scanner that worked with it).

If some dreaded monster virus starts to devour my laptop... so be it.

Hi Dave, I just gave up and shut it down the other day. I started updating it in the morning 8am and stopped at 99% around 1am the following day. I don't know what to do with this as it kept saying to update it otherwise it doesn't function properly.

what do you mean you disable the wifi then switched it on? I wouldn't update without a wifi would it?

Well certainly on Win7, you can disable automatic updating anyway... at 'Action Centre', and put yourself back in control (as you can on Google Play on other devices).

You don't have control over it... so to be sure I just turn off the wifi before I open the W10 laptop... That way if there are any updates available they won't be installed.

Hi John, I tried to do what you did and it worked. It took 12-15 hours though. When I was logging in it says profile user failed even though I typed the correct password. I restarted it and it worked. Now it's all updated! But for me, Windows 10 is still complicated. Never had problems with windows before except for this one! Thank you!!
