I think if it's just cover letter, employment cert and landlord letter, it's ok for them to keep. You can ask for another copy. But if it's tenancy contract then write a letter to HO.

It’s ok, HO can keep them, just wondered why. We have the orig tenancy agreement so we’re good.

Shame we cant apply for RoM and passport renewal at the same time now, life would have been so much easier :)

Yeah. Thought we could do that too. Filled up the form for passport renewal together with the RoM. I told them that based from their website I could do both. They said they just changed the rules :erm:

    That's good to know...

Evidence that subsequent - FLR/ILR Visa - applications take considerably less time than Fiancé(e) applications...

One would expect them to unless the applicants circumstances have changed a considerable over the 30 months.

Hello, just passed by this thread as we are about to apply for my husband's first FLR(M).

Was just wondering how many letters that has a joint name do we have to submit? Is one okay or two?

If your application is as the partner of a settled person or person who is in the UK with refugee leave or humanitarian protection Six items of correspondence addressed to you and your partner at the same address as evidence that you have been living together since your last grant of leave in this category, or from the date you first started living together up to a maximum of two years. See Note 11. Note 11 The items of correspondence should be addressed to you jointly or in both your names. Examples of acceptable items are listed below. The documents provided must be originals. Photocopies are not acceptable. The dates of the items of correspondence should be spread evenly over the whole period you are relying on. They should be from at least 3 different sources. If you do not have enough items in your joint names, you may also provide items addressed to each of you individually if they show the same address for both of you. For example - Four items of correspondence in joint names to the same address and two items addressed to each partner at the address. In total eight items would need to be submitted. If you and your partner have no bills or correspondence in joint names, you will need to submit twelve items (six each) of correspondence, evidencing that you reside together at the same address. If you and your partner lived with relatives or friends for some or all of the period you are relying on, please provide a letter from the relative(s) and/or friend(s) confirming this. If you did not live together for any part of the period you are relying on, tell us the reasons for this and whether you stayed in contact with each other during this time, and provide any relevant supporting evidence. Please give an explanation on a separate sheet if you cannot provide six items; if the items are not addressed to both of you; or if they do not cover the period you are relying on. FLR(M) Version 07/2018 Page 64 of 79 Examples of acceptable items of correspondence • Letters or other documents from government departments or agencies, for example HM Revenue and Customs, Department for Work and Pensions, DVLA, TV Licensing. • Letters or other documents from your GP, a hospital or other local health service about medical treatments, appointments, home visits or other medical matters • Bank statements/letters • Building society savings books/letters • Council tax bills or statements • Electricity and/or gas bills or statements • Water rates bills or statements • Mortgage statements/agreement • Tenancy agreement(s) • Telephone bills or statements

Hmm. So we need four in joint names? Isn't that a bit excessive? My husband's only been here for less than two months...

no--thats just an example. if you have no letters in joint names--its 6 letters to each of you at the same address. the pdf does show a list of suitable letters.

is your council tax bill in joint names ?
    water bill? energy bills ?

can be more than one letter from same source--such as bank statements.

Considering everyone is encouraged to 'go paperless' these days, that could be quite a mammoth task, even over a period of 6 months (fiance(e) visa to first FLR(M))!!!

I'm going to piggy back on menchu_edge's thread with my (our) recent FLR application.

Submitted online on 12th November, did the biometrics at the Post Office the next day, and all docs sent by post on 16th November. We had the approval today on Christmas Eve (letter dated 21st December). I was expecting it to drag out to the New Year, so relieved that it is all done and dusted.

We sent my bank statements printed straight off the HSBC website. Bank said unnecessary for them to stamp or confirm authenticity.

6 month wage slips. My employer went paperless 7 months ago, and would only issue the old style slips to those on maternity leave! To make matters worse, the cheap software they use does not have any official company logo etc. This is still in development. The payslips all look like they've been rustled up on MS Word by an amateur. The company did provide a letter confirming authenticity of the payslips, however.

Council tax bill in joint names provided. Other than Amazon deliveries (many of which don't contain receipts nowadays) and communication with the NHS following her ectopic pregnancy (not included in the application), this is the only correspondence with her name.

Original marriage certificate, where they managed to misspell Papa's name!

I included both our passports as I had no need for it over the next few months.

All other stuff largely the same as for the first settlement visa.

Thankfully, all was ok. Quite a reasonable turn around time. The BRP should be with us shortly.

If possible, I would switch to paper bank statements and pay slips. I was fine without, but it would still have been nice to eliminate that slight nagging doubt. If you do end up in a position where you having to use your own print outs, don't worry about it.

Now it's time to get her name on more official documents and bills in preparation for the next steps.

The letter was signed by a lady in the 'RP Workflow'. Is this specially for Republic of Philippines applicants, or something to do with resident permits?

Congrats, @PorkAdobo - now you can relax for 30 months (almost)... Just goes to prove UKVI are a lot more relaxed (and reasonable!) once the Applicant is in the UK.
