I guess that if the Filipina has a CFO certificate , immigration will not ask for invitation letter. So I don't think its an issue.

I've never heard of the letter of invitation, or sponsorship form needing to be notarised before . We certainly didn't do it for our visit applications .

Singapore bound Filipino passengers may be treated slightly differently.

Filipinos do not need short stay visitor visas, Singapore immigration is anecdotally more strict than other ASEAN nations, and it is a common destination/gateway for trafficking.

It is perhaps not a surprise that a developed state such as Singapore would encourage Filipinos (and probably Indonesians, Vietnamese, Burmese etc) to dot their I's and cross their T's prior to visiting their OFW family members. On paper, these nephews and sisters are more likely to be entering Singapore for reasons other than simple "tourism". The Philippine Embassy will obviously communicate these recommendations to minimise offloads/deportations.

For travel to the UK, those requirements will not be relevant. However, I'd still plan for worst case scenario and have evidence of your relationship should you come across an immigration official on a power trip.

Why did you edit your earlier post 10 times.

The original URL you posted was http://www.philippinesmiami.org/letter-of-invitation/ which is from a press release on the Philippine US honorary consulate in Miami.

    I can't find anything similar on http://www.londonpe.dfa.gov.ph/

Arrgh, I wish I'd never started this thread hahah.

After 11 months of trips and stress and emotions and planning and expense and arrangements and appointments and achievements, I just want to bring my fiancee home. It seems whenever you *think* you can relax, some new requirement or doubt pi**es in the whiskey!

I really could not handle it if we got to NAIA and they said she couldn't leave, despite having a valid passport, UK visa, CFO cert/stamp *and* relationship evidence, just because some document from the embassy is required - this is the first I've heard of it, after watching these forums for the last 11 months. I'm pretty sure my fiancee would see it as fate that her destiny isn't to be in the UK and I'd lose her over it (she's really superstitious like that!).

Maybe I should call the embassy in London tomorrow.

You need to take note of people a bit further on in the visa journey than those prattling on about stuff they very clearly have not a clue about.
There are many on here myself included that are trying to help and if they felt you were not in a good position would be telling you.
This thread contains some nonsense postings that have been back tracked on and shown not to be accurate.
You and your girlfriend are in a good position you have the right visa issued by UK gov you have your cfo, please do not be influenced by commentts of grillings and prove this prove that as I have said it is a nonsense.
Try to relax you are ok,

Thank you @Mattecube, I do sincerely put massive stock in your advice, as I do with @oss, @OTT and other established members.

I too would expect that what we have is enough. Surely if the UK government has granted Entry Clearance, then that serves as an invite! Surely the CFO certificate and stamp proves that she's already been "grilled" and questioned about the relationship and legitimacy of the intention to emigrate, by authorised Filipino officials. A few final questions from the immigration officer were to be expected.

I just can't afford to come home without her. It would ruin me. She is already losing the will to live having to live with her parents right now. She sleeps outside under a tree! I know deep down she considers just getting on the first flight out to Bahrain every day, because she hates it where she is - but she's holding on for next month. If there's a setback akin to what is being scare-mongered in this thread, I do fear she'd just give up and leave.

I don't think you will have any issues but be prepared and arrive with plenty of time at airport.

    http://www.immigration.gov.ph/index...i-there-is-no-such-thing-as-offloading-policy

Found the link above which gives a bit of background as to what they are looking for. Also has official link to requirements for different categories of exit people.

    2. Filipino spouses and other partners of foreign nationals
Travelers falling under this visa category shall present the following
    documents for primary inspection:
    a) Passport
    b) Permanent residence permit or visa / immigrant visa / permanent
    residence card
    c) Guidance and Counseling Certificate
    d) CFO Emigrant registration sticker
    e) Airline/Sea Craft Ticket

Think some of issues raised including my worries on previous exits are tied to tourist requirements. Never hurts to plan for the worse and as I said before not had ant issues on previous exits.

True but doing quick search the guidelines referred to in it (there is a link on the page to them) where put in place in 2012 and could not find updated version with quick look.

Guidelines are consistent with what has been discussed here with regards to different categories and potential requirements.

Important thing is that for thingymejig2 his requirement is met and details what he needs. He should not need any more info although I would still take visa application supporting documents as well as covers a jobsworth immigration officer although I've not heard experienced that so I might be to cautious.

As I have said all along, ideally you should refrain from scare mongering by using word such as grilling which as I say is a nonsense and then for you to back track is not helpful.
