    how is that, please help me on this because its says there on the first pointer,

    + A victim of domestic violence "OR" A spouse of a British Citizen OR a settled in UK. hence I am a British Citizen.

    Exemptions if you’re applying to settle
    You don’t need to prove your knowledge of English if you’re applying as:

    • a victim of domestic violence as the partner or spouse of a British citizen or someone settled in the UK
    • the partner or spouse of a person who has died who was either a British citizen or someone settled in the UK
    • an adult dependent relative between 18 and 64 of someone who is present and settled in the UK, is a refugee or has humanitarian protection
    • a refugee living in the UK
    • someone living in the UK with discretionary leave
    • someone living in the UK for with humanitarian protection
    • someone who has permission to stay in the UK as a retired person of independent means
    • a Commonwealth citizen on discharge from HM Forces, including Gurkhas
    • a highly skilled migrant applying under the terms of the highly skilled migrant program (HSMP) judicial review and your dependants
    • someone in exceptional circumstances, eg as an orphan, widow or over-age dependant

    Please correct me if I am wrong, but if she leaves the UK for long enough wont the 5 year residency requirement be reset and they have to start over from scratch.

    Also I think if you using savings for the ILR you only need to show funds for 1 year, not the 2.5 years needed for a FLR extension.

    you need to show savings over the last 6 months if you use savings as whole or part of the sponsorship financial requirement for FLR. not 2.5 years

    You would have to reapply for a visa with all the associated financial requirements

    It says "as", not "or".

    It means if you are the victim of domestic violence, and the person who inflicted the violence is a British citizen and is either your partner or spouse.

    I assume this does not apply in your case.

    You need to get B1 English and the Life in the UK Test done.
