Since early in the year I have been reminding her that her Permanent Residence needed applying for, as the old one was nearly at the end. Then she forgot.........
Her employer, rightly, could not keep her, so had to let her reluctantly go........ Come home, and we get the application sorted..... Easier said than done, she wanted to stay in Manchester with her boy-friend. Over the summer I have been very busy travelling from one venue to another, with very little time to spend with my wife, so every time that she turned up for the blessed application, either I was not in the mood because too tired, and when not, she was getting picked up by the BF to go back to Manchester......
For some reason I was to blame for everything but the London fire... It went on for a while, in the end, taking a couple of days off work, finally got her to fill her forms, sift through what was really necessary to fill and what not, gather all bits of evidence asked for, £65 card payment on the payment page, shove everything into self addressed pre-paid post bag, including the return to sender ones.........
It was a bit hard to understand fully, with sections, sub-sections, and sub-sub sections, the guidance seems to be written with the sole purpose of confusing matters even more than they already are..
But Amazing how quick one's money gets out of the account....... 2 days after posting I check my account and the 65 quid had already gone Blimey!!!
A few weeks ago, for fear of not getting my passport back in time for our flight to Pinas in early January I kindly requested it through an online form. The week after it was returned...... The I started panicking thinking I had been too rash and they hadn't finished with the checks...
No fear, today all was returned and the accompanying letter says that the card will be arriving separately soon.

    Less than 2 months..........

You know what, Keith...... She is never here as she is supposed to be, Jet and I, we both go to work, so if it arrives and nobody is here to sign for it, well... Though...... I have done my bit and more, from now on I wash my hands....

Tether and end of, come to mind...

3 days since she was told to be home, in case she needs to sign personally for the delivery.......... Not a word.

I am working from home today, under self inflicted duress
