    Hello all

Summary Question: Can a filipina on a 6m UK Visa and in the UK visit Amsterdam for a weekend with little to no paperwork?

    The detail:

My filipina gf is visiting me in the UK

    We are in the UK

I am british / have a british passport and am resident in the UK

She is filipina / has a Philippines Passport and is resident in the Philippines

She has a 6 month UK visa and is currently here in the UK with me

We would like to spend a weekend in Amsterdam

For me - I know I can just go

For her - what's the process for her so we can spend a weekend in Amsterdam? Rather than a full-blown application I wonder if there is some kind of shorter path given she's already been vetted and accepted by another European Member Country (i.e. she has a 6 month UK Visa)

Thank you in advance for your help.

Once you get the Netherlands visa you can travel anywhere in the Schengen zone though

My three visit visa were all multiple entry.

Why not go to morroco? Filipinos do not need visa to go there. And i would think the fare is nearly the same. Im not even sure you can apply for a visa to NL in the UK since she doesnt have a valid residence permit here.

I was told normal rule is you apply for the Schengen Visa where you hold a nationality or have a residency with valid long term visa.

You need to apply at the embassy of the country that is your first point of entry. So they would need to apply for a Schengen visa at the Dutch embassy.

You can apply for a visa anywhere in the world as long as you are at the correct embassy and have a valid visa to stay in that country. Mica, who is phil, can apply for a British visitor and fiancee visa whilst working in the Cayman. She is on a work visa there. You can apply for a schengen visa though even if you are not resident.
    From https://www.schengenvisainfo.com/how-to-apply-schengen-visa/

Can I apply for a Schengen visa in a country where I am not a resident?
Yes. If you must apply for a Schengen visa in a country where you are not a resident, the justification why you are applying from that country will suffice.

The applicant must attend the designated meeting in person when handing the application form and the attached documentation. At the consulate, the applicant shall not be accompanied unless he/she is a minor, of sensitive health or not able to perform any locomotive activity. In case the applicant is not able to speak English or the language of the Schengen country whose consulate he/she is applying in a company is recommended.
If you fail to attend the embassy/consulate appointment without a prior notice of 48 hours the request will be cancelled and you will have to undergo the procedure once again.

I'd imagine that Morocco was off everybody's tourist destination at the moment.
