i have become aware of a Filipina in Spain who is in this situation. She has the idea after three years that she could gain residence. I’m not. So sure. Could she obtain a visa by a Brit who wanted to marry her. Or a French citizen? To eventually get her to the UK?
She has overstayed, she will struggle to get a visa as an overstayer! Could she get a visa by a Brit or French citizen? why stop there for choice there are many more countries to choose from !
Why is she shopping around for a husband according to the type of visa she can get from him?Quite mercenary Unless I have the wrong end of the stick in which case I apologise BUT small wonder filipinas have a reputation for tago ng tago
I actually know a filipina,arrested last year by the UKBA she came here to the UK as a bogus student,worked as a live in nanny overstaying her visa by 3-4 years,married a guy twice her age and lives with him now in the west country,she was arrested a few months after her wedding,spent a day or two in custody,still here in the UK thought I don't know how or why but she was quite open about the fact she was an overstayer and had tricked her way into the country under the guise of a fake student.
People do what they can to survive, and obviously what she did was wrong. We cannot label every Filipina with the same brush, the lady that I have mentioned, was at 30 married to a man twice her age, and he died 9 years later of cancer. She stayed with him to the end. She is older now and still attractive. Yesterday I was asked to help a single woman with two kids from Zimbabwe get to the UK - she is 26 years old. I suggested she study nursing.
