Police have warned Brexiteers planning a ‘go-slow’ protest on some of the United Kingdom major motorways that they could be prosecuted if their driving endangers other road users.

A spokesman for the Derbyshire police issued a statement warning those who plan to protest of the possible repercussions if they are seen to be endangering other road users.

The police spokesman said: “Those taking part in any protest – on a high-speed road – should be aware that if the manner of their driving endangers other road users then they may be liable to prosecution.”

They were rolling road blocks so the overall effect wasn't as bad as it would have been surrounding a serious traffic accident. The hauliers who staged this protest will, I suspect, grow in number as the 29th approaches just as there will be different forms of direct action breaking out across the country.

As I say it was all bull and bluster yesterday yes there were a few go slows etc.
I doubt many haulers and drivers will want to get to involved and I suspect the ones that do will be more the own account operators rather than the major player's the difficulty people will have in assesing who is taken part is if you are stuck behind a rolling roadblock is are you part of it by choice or not.

Oh my God. An actual quote from one of the organiseers! She is telling her kids to go live in a country in the EU instead!

    https://www.plymouthherald.co.uk/news/local-news/brexit-ferry-protest-plymouth-no-2677855

Despite the support from ferry passengers, Mrs Gadd admitted she was disappointed with the turn out.

"People on Facebook were saying they're coming - they but haven't turned up.

"I feel sorry for people having to to grow up in this country. I'm advising my kids to leave the country - to go to Greece or somewhere."

Last evening's rolling road blocks on the M1, M4 and M5 were organised by a group calling itself "Brexit Direct Action" who are demanding that Brexit goes ahead.

The roadblocks on the M1 actually speeded up rush hour apparently.

I wouldnt mock them if I were you..
If they get properly organised then there WILL be a standstill all over the UK..
Remember the petrol price increase protest in 2000?
That alone turned the crooked politicians into slobbering jellyfish if my memory serves me correctly!

who is mocking them???? certainly not me, but as a professional driver who probably clocks up each week about 2000+kms the expression I used is how saw it as did many of my fellow road users yesterday !
Yes I remember the petrol price increase protest of 2000,clearly you do to.

The difference is that protest had little political affiliation. Most people felt ripped off at the pumps (and still do today). Aside from some hardcore environmental activists, few people were happy at petrol exceeding £1.00.

The current flux we are in at the moment is pitting half the country against the other. Trying to put the country at a standstill to prove a point will be futile as the other half can do likewise, and then you'll have fringes on each side making things violent.

I see that the Police will be prosecuting four of the organising drivers for "inconsiderate driving" on the A30 yesterday.

How about they also prosecute the anti-Brexit demonstrators in London for causing obstructions and delaying traffic ...

Because its legal to have a march that is approved on the streets of the UK. Dangerous driving ( or whatever they did ) is never approved last time I checked.

How about we prosecute Politicians that lie in referenda? Or how about those who's campaign are funded by foreign money?

They are not being prosecuted for dangerous driving but for "inconsiderate driving" which is a new one on me. Yes, let's prosecute the lying politicians starting with Tim Farron, Vince Cable, George Osborne, Call Me Dave, Dominic Grieve, Anna Soubry, Diane Abbott, "I was there but not involved" Corbyn - in fact around 90% of all politicians have lied and betrayed voters.

Most Politicians lie by default..They believe it is their right.

    "Socrates Noble Lie
In politics, a noble lie is a myth or untruth, often, but not invariably, of a religious nature, knowingly propagated by an elite to maintain social harmony or to advance an agenda. The noble lie is a concept originated by Plato as described in the Republic".

No. They will not be prosecuted...Ever. For what?

Inconsiderate also classed as careless driving examples are
Driving in an overtaking lane unnessecerely for long periods(middle lane hoggers)
Driving aggressively to gain advantage over other road users maybe considered inconsiderate(potentially dangerous)
Been that way for years remember the "drive on the left unless overtaking" campaign
