Just getting some quotes today from airlines, and i came across this. Philippine airlines quoted me £442 to fly to Hong Kong via 2 hour wait in Manila, but to fly only to Manila its £582 :D, cant get my head round airlines sometimes.. Yes you read it right same dates, same airline cheaper to fly further.. Hahaha

Looks like you can have a free weekend in Hong Kong either side of your visit to the Philippines.

I dont know if this will open for you, the lower prices are all with Kuwait airways which aint a great airline, however the slightly higher prices are mostly with Thai airlines and Emirates which are decent airlines to fly with.. the Travel agency is STA, Iv used STA previously with no problem, and they have outlets throughout the UK, but you can also book direct with the airline if thats your preference..

Cathay or Thai by a country mile over PAL,even if theres a few extra quid to pay, flown all three airlines many times and PAL usually lives up to its nickname PAL Philippines Always Late.

Looking for a flight Manila/London return, 1st week to last week August. Best so far is Emirates at £620 with a stopover in Dubai. Anyone see a better flight? Cheers.

Are you booking direct with carrier or using agent? On skyscanner got some July prices with emirates starting at £609. That’s Manchester to Manila Ninoy

Cheers for that @Stupot10 ideally we want to avoid Manila but it might be a case of money talks when you equate the cost for 3 people!

Yea we did the same “circular” route. Soon as I booked I regretted it. On way home we stopped at Clark, passengers got on, food and blankets were loaded on, 1.5 hours later we took off. Both flights into DXB took ages to land, just queueing for a slot. Knew I should have done Cathay. And I paid more. Silly me.

Is it on a single connecting ticket, or are you planning a stopover in HKG, the stopover is likely to cost a lot more than £130?

It's a saving of £130 per ticket times 3 of us
