Today is my last day as a free man And it is very busy here in Joy's grandmothers house as everyone gets ready for tomorrow. We are having two receptions, one paid for and provided by a place called Jocells Gardens, the other will be here for all the locals to pop by and get some food and wishing us well.. So, we have a makeshift gazebo outside (more of a temporary extension to the house) and on the other side of the house Lechon Baboy is being prepared. Now, we decided to have two pigs for this day. One being Lechon and the other being a multitude of dishes.. This meant that earlier today I had the (mis)fortune to witness one of these pigs getting slaughtered I ducked out of seeing the other one get it, due to being a tad sickened by the whole thing. Now, killing the pig didn't sicken me, I did feel sorry for the animal but it was the smell of pig poo that really made me go green... Though it was not a pretty sight and the pig screamed like a banshee, I can see how it might turn some people veggie after witnessing such an event. But hey, this is tradition and it is not as if I don't enjoy the odd bacon butty to get offended by it. We had a lady come round to give Joy a pedicure and a manicure, got my own toenails cut as well... I paint them blue later! Lots of fussing going on all around me right now, though my role in all of this is simply to sit back and say "Do you want a hand with that" which will get met with a refusal
Enjoy getting pampered.... I did refuse the manicure and pedicure in favour of a cold shower and some peace and quiet on my own reading the last couple of chapters of a John Grisham book... Yeah, well... I was late-ish, sort of thing.. I was so immersed in the book that my brother in law had to come and collect me from the hotel room... Take it easy and enjoy the day as it unfolds. You will have some great memories....
wishing you both many years of happiness good health and fortune together, have a lovely day all the best
I remember nodding my head in agreement to having a manicure. Oh dear. My nails were pinkish and very shiny for a long time. Even when I got back to work
To Sean and Joy, all best wishes to you both for a great wedding day. I wish you a long and successful marriage full of fun, smiles and truly shining memories.
The point of no return............... Oh... Happy day...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All the best from us..........
