Qatar Airways is now operating a weekly service between Doha and Davao on Fridays using Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. Departing Doha at 02.45 and arriving at Davao at 20.50 with a 90 minute technical stop enroute at Clark. On the return leg the plane leaves Davao at 22.20 and flies non-stop to Doha where it arrives at 03.15 the next morning (Saturday).

Top class airline too. Very happy last time I used them (Manchester-Manila, via Doha, which is good little airport too) . :like:

In other news, Clark loses non-stop service to Qatar!

This seems to mirror the Emirates flight which goes on Dubai-Clark-Cebu triangle route.

Be aware that flying into Qatar will not give you access to other Gulf countries Due to the embargo in place Qatar is pretty much isolated to other gulf countries. OK for a stopover to Europe

    Bunch of ars@oles.

Screwed me up over my booking from KUL to LXR a couple of years ago. I booked direct with Qatar airlines, the route was cancelled due to bad politics, I had zero communication from them, wasted hours contacting them to try to get clarification, finally told to phone back 24 hours before the flight for a reroute.

When I called back as instructed I was told tough, no reroute, the only option offered was to apply for a refund which would be given in 30 days time.

Fourteen hours before I was due to check out of my hotel in Kuala Lumpur they did that to me, may they rot in hell for ever.

Fortunately I managed to find a Turkish Airlines flight KUL to CAI, and an Egyptair flight CAI to LXR which put me back on schedule.

I will forever curse Qatar Airways. Even though they had given me an upgrade to business on my previous flight I hope I never have to fly with the scum again.

I wasn’t caught up in the embargo so obviously not as bitter as those who were, but I do have sympathy with QR when Gulf Council states including Egypt, Saudi, UAE etc announced the embargo on Qatar.

This appeared like a lightning bolt and gave the airline little time to react. It impacted thousands upon thousands of passengers. Due to the embargo, they were limited with offering flights on alternative carriers. QR didn’t know if the embargo was just a weekend job to scare the state of Qatar or something more permanent. Getting clarity from an outsourced call centre in these circumstances....good luck! The fact is they just had no clue how the situation was going to evolve.
