Cmon guys. This is no longer funny. In about 4 hours I will be connecting the turbo blower to the 2" connector pipe. Incineration schedule Exactly 6 PM Philippine time. Bottles are looking extremely anxious now awaiting for some kind of miraculous last minute reprieve from high and mighty ADMIN. Will it come in time though? Will they see sense and help save Keith`s already dismal carbon foot print total? Will these poor innocent bottles ever see the recycle bin again which has a big "Save the planet" sticker on it? Looking doubtful.
Well.. To be fair I gave the environmentalists another good 5 minutes before I finally threw them on. They needn't worry as it was a highly quick and very efficient end. A bit too quick really. Next week, lets ramp it up a little.. 40 next week,or is that a bit harsh? What do you think?
UK summer weather: tornadoes, torrential rain – and a heatwave Unsettled pattern forecast to continue after Manchester hit by tornado on Friday https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news...ther-tornadoes-torrential-rain-and-a-heatwave
Maybe they were geriatric Extinction Rebellion anarchists intent on an early death following the BBC's decision to make the over-75s pay the TV Tax; Boots' burn barrel was their Swiss clinic. Was one of them called Keith?
"Protecting the environment has overtaken affordable housing and the threat of terrorism in the British public’s policy priorities over the last eight months, polling has revealed. Polling by BritainThinks, commissioned by Engage Britain, found that concern about the climate crisis has risen at roughly the same rate for all age groups, and has emerged as the single most important issue for young people. It comes as the activist group Extinction Rebellion is due to stage another round of protests expected to bring parts of the country to a standstill." https://www.theguardian.com/environ...ter-concern-than-housing-or-terrorism-uk-poll
Oh, look! Another politically biased opinion poll conducted by an obscure "think tank", and supporting a group of extreme-left wing anarchists who have threatened to bring down the government if their demands are not met.
Politicaly biased? That will be news to the Home Office , Water Companies , NSPCC , MacDonalds The Girl Guides who are amongst there clients or did you just say anything that comes into your head? https://britainthinks.com/clients
Amen. You know I wouldn't be at all surprised if it were established that Extinction Rebellion is simply a cabal of elderly Marxist agitators whose aim is the destruction of capitalism by revolutionary means and turning the UK into a communist state by cynically purposing the emotive issue of climate change as a front to garner support for their true aims. The former head of the Met Police Counter Terrorism Command, Richard Walton, calls the group extremist and says it is trying to break down democracy and the State. Extinction Rebellion's co-founder and failed organic farmer, Roger Hallam, has almost admitted as much: "We are going to force the governments to act. And if they don't, we will bring them down and create a democracy fit for purpose . . . and yes, some may die in the process" he told members. Hallam and Gail Bradbrook, also a co-founder, wrote in the Telegraph: "We oppose a system that generates huge wealth through astonishing innovation but is fatally unable to distribute fairly and provide universal access to its spoils. We need a 'revolution' in consciousness to overturn the system we live in, to strengthen our democracy, to find courage and give hope to our children." Until quite recently Hallam was studying for a PhD in civil disobedience at King's College London, researching how to achieve social change through radical movements. Just who does Hallam think he is? What gives him the right to decide what kind of democracy is fit for purpose? Of course, anyone is welcome to protest about global warming and force politicians to act. But their genuine concerns are being hijacked by a bunch of manipulative extremists and anarchists. Edited to add: It would seem that my suspicions are borne-out by a statement attributed to another of XR's co-founders, Stuart Basden, who is quoted as saying: "XR isn’t about the climate. You see, the climate’s breakdown is a symptom of a toxic system that has infected the ways we relate to each other as humans and to all life." All in my opinion, of course.
