hi guys I would really appreciate some advice please. My manager has been very accomodating and she said she will write a employment letter for me. I suggested that i could write the letter for her , so not to inconvenience her and if she agreed on the contents of the letter then she would basically copy and paste on a letter headed paper and sign/date it.

Anyway I'm struggling on the gross annual salary part. My contractual pay for unknown reasons changes every month and this past year ive had a few rises in my pay rate.

how would an employer calculate earnings per annum . My contract states that i earn £10.17 per hour and i work 38.25 hours per week ( not including overtime and bonuses) plus a night shift premium of £404.73 per calendar month which is £1960 per month, according to my calculations this is £23528 per annum. should i go with this figure as my payslips have a different contractual pay figure .

or should i add up my contactual pay in the payslips for this past year and give this figure..by the way im applying through category B and have to provide 12 month payslips

Charlie I get mine laid out like this
    Basic contractual 38.25 multiples by £10.17 times52 =
Basic contractual night premium ??? Times 12
Contractual per annum guaranteed £££ basic plus night premium

OTE for year total pay to date ÷number of weeks to date multiplied by 52= £££ ( this however is not guerenteed)

Get a letter stating your contract, pay per hour etc.

Then, at the end, state how much your gross earnings were in the last financial year (April to April). Then add how much you have earned since last April and how that equates to annual earnings if taken as an average over 12 months.

I would provide payslips from April 2018 onwards.
