A Year Later a chat with the Phils embassy

Hi every one heres an interesting one !!

Having left the Phils a year ago I had a good reminder why im in no hurry to return.

In 2010 november I got Jhean her first passport in Cebu and we then married in Feb of 2011 as its not possible to just change names in the passport after marriage and as Micky has her maiden name to I decided to wait untill they were safely here befor takling that one so yesterday we telephoned the Fils embassy here to find out what to do.

He spoke excellent English and at first said the missus just should pop in to the embassy in Lisbon however when we explained that it was a change to her married name it rapidly became farce.

In order for her to change to her married name they require a D.F.A. authenticated ,NSO marriage cert and for icing on the cake they wont accept at the DFA a certificate sent from outside the Phils so "get her sister to send it sir" hmm "shes an orphan " silence lol

So although we have several NSO marriage certs on authentic fraud proof paper the embassy isnt able to confirm with the NSO in te Phils that they are authentic .................wonderful na and a reminder why I for one wont be going back any time soon

think they have a "how can we make it bloody difficult department"

it because obviously they all want to make out of many to every foreigner they encounter..:vhappy: thats why

Im sure thats true but whilst they may win this one it makes me disinclined to return and spend money
