can i ask where it is ? here or there ? as i said earlier--i sold up my place--in the UK ..and rented for a while. ok--i took a big hit--sale fees, rent for 33 months all told, fees and stamp duty on subsequent purchase---but there simply was no other way--at the time. my only income was state pension. the cash also covered her annulment, visa fees, flight and tidying up loose ends. i darent add all that up--the things we do for love eh? that covered the time from 2013 to 16. but to put it all in context...i got my present house at a bargain price...cash in the bank--nothing to sell---no mortgage--quick completion to suit the vendor. i reckon its already showing a 50 grand increase--and who knows what will happen now post election. i reckon on another 10% this year.
Hi Bigmac, Its here in Philippines, I have 2 places in the Uk im renting out at the moment, but one I will have to stop renting to live in. Timing all depends on selling here, that could take god knows how long. So I take it your in the UK?
yes--on the isle of Wight. married in 2016. my wife now holds a management job in a care home nearby. happy days. you will need to prove you have a suitable place to live in the UK as part of her visa application. do you think your cash released from the sale will cover the visa application requirement? ( 62.5k) or will you still need to prove a job income ?
Hi Bigmac, Yeah will cover it for sure. Isle Of Wight eh,,, sister just moved back to Northern Ireland from Fareham. Nice area, never been to Isle of Wight.Lived in Southampton for a while but. Where in PH your lady from?
my son and family are in soton--new forrest. i lived in gosport in the 90's my wife is from near Aritao.
A few reasons,my mother and father are getting old,mum 83 this year dad 80. Wife loves it there,we have been twice on holiday. She works here in a Call Centre earning peanuts and wants to get a job and help the family here. Plus its a bit cooler there hehehe.
Currently what income do you achieve over the last 12 months on your UK properties if it's above £18600 auditable you can use this under category c income non employment.
I would say they probably would but would rather get the PH one sold. Its quite far from my wifes family and I think its my best option to sell.
