I very much doubt it will... Its mainly aimed at unskilled workers...i.e warehouse workers and workers under £24000 a year etc... So I cannot see it affecting these visa... And besides... We pay for it out of our own money and not the governments

No it shouldnt do,if anything it brings parity between EU and non EU migration, non EU have always had a tougher visa process.
Its all to do with taking back control of our borders (hurrah)
It lowers salary thresholds and allows those EU people that are already here, in the vast majority to stay all be it on an electronic visa!
Here is a write up published yesterday

It's long overdue to be honest... I'm "low skilled" and the fact that agencies reach out to bring EU workers in is ludacris... When there's people here willing and able to do that same job.. And yeh that's true about being tougher for non eu members also

You are so correct, Daveyw1988 :like:

The make-up of our country was being altered far too quickly when the Labour government opened the gates without any foresight.

    Let's think about this:
    1. People can earn more here than in the Eastern bloc countries.
    2. People can learn English which is the dominant language of the world.

    1 + 2 = mass exodus

It is not too difficult to understand but the people we elected seemed to lack foresightedness.
(foresightedness. noun. The exercise of good judgment or common sense in practical matters.)

Maybe the politicians were intelligent but they had no common sense.

It makes me angry when people like yourself are affected negatively. :boxer:

The people who are already here will generally stay but, as time goes on, there will be less and less. I know some are already going home because they don't want to do any extra paperwork.
Let's hope British people will be utilised to the maximum.

I was called the turkey that voted for Christmas for airing the view thatimmigration needed to be strictly managed.

More importantly is that you fulfill all the requirements, David.

I went the spousal visa route as I thought the romance of marrying in the Philippines where my wife could be with all her family was the most important thing.

Funny but that has been going through my mind for quite a while too.

South Park did a good job on that one :)

we are watching how this unfolds. My wife's daughter, back in the philis, has finished her university studying to become a civil engineer. she failed the review stage, and is in the process of re-doing it.

she may decide to apply to come to the UK at some future date.

    So just to be clear.

We are giving EU citizens a good kicking by making it more difficult for them to work in the UK. Hurrah.

We are giving ourselves a good kicking by making it more difficult for us to work and settle in 27 of our closest neighbouring countries. Hurrah.

We are giving our fellow British citizens a good kicking by making it more difficult for them to marry an EU national. Hurrah.

And we think that British citizens claiming unemployment benefits are now all going to get a job? Suddenly, the job market in Merthyr Tydfil booms? The contributions those immigrants make towards supporting pensions for our increasingly elderly society are going to be replaced?

    Now, where’s that bridge?

You could also add we are giving our fellow citizens a good kicking by creating greater competition for the good well paid skilled jobs.

I read one comment elsewhere that I found funny, that it'll soon be the well paid skilled immigrant senior manager who will be interviewing and selecting the low skilled Brits for their new low paid jobs that the benefits system will force them into.

We are making it more difficult for the sick lame and lazy of the EU to come and reap and bleed dry our social system. Hurrah

We are ensuring that our country does not become the deadwood of the industrial world by inviting the best. Hurrah

If your not upto the standards set, stay put or look elsewhere

Open up employment for UK spongers hurrah.

Hopefully the bridge has been raised till the toll is met hurrah

I interview dozens of people in my line of work seeking to become entry level travel consultants. I don't know for certain, but I'm fairly confident that this will be classified as a non skilled job. Call centre work, pretty much.

Don't get me wrong, I've interviewed a fair few Romanian duffers in my time. However, on balance, the younger British school leavers I interview often have appalling skills at both written and spoken English.
Proportionately, those from the EU are simply far superior despite them working in a 2nd language. We don’t look to employ them on the cheap. We offer a reasonable salary for any young person in the North of England. For a multitude of reasons (and it’s not the fault of the teachers), British schools are producing far too many students who are not up to scratch. I’d say it’s more of an issue in England as our office in East Kilbride does much better.

Good luck to whoever ends up taking those “UK spongers” (as you call them). I hope it’s not us!

Have you looked at the benefits system recently, just pray you never end up on Universal Credit.
