Full song at the end "in the dark"..... starts at 08:08 One song that comes out and stays in vogue always.
Amazing song, considering they were using tape not digital. Show a young person a Revox B77 they wouldn't know what to do with it. I used to work in radio just before the digital age, and I was an absolute wizard with chopping up and splicing audio tape using the trusty B77. Happy days.
I had a Sony TC 377 reel to reel recorder in the 1970's, Rob. I couldn't afford the Revox I never did any cutting and splicing but I used to love being able to keep music going for hours. It seemed so futuristic at the time and it is amazing that streaming music online can go on and on and on
That was released just before my Arran days, when I would travel to the isle of Arran every week during the summer and spend 4 or 5 days there, it was very special and particularly for a young boy full of hormones, conflict and heartache Happy and sad times for which this amongst others was the soundtrack of my life. edit: An interesting insight into how this song came about thanks Mike.
Off tangent, one of my favourite Godley and Creme pieces is this one : There is a very slight similarity in one of my other absolute favourites, from the Floyd, 'Coming back to life' from the Division Bell, about half way through there are some similarities in rhythmic structure. I just love Nick Mason relentless rhythmic progressions and the counterpoint of Dave Gilmour's rhythm and solo work in this track.
