I have been up Snaefell in the IoM where on a good clear day you can see 5 kingdoms = Wales, England, Scotland, N Ireland and Ireland, well 6 if you include IoM. Problem is getting the good day. :D

I let the train take the strain when we went up.

Did they only give you 30 minutes at the summit like they did us?

Is there a cafe at the summit? Like there is on Snaefell?

I was up there in either 1970 or 1972, on the Snaefell Mountain Railway, the weather was terrible that day sadly but it was fun going up.

Victorian electric train I recall. I took Mrs Ash up on this (more tram than railway) not long after she arrived in Britain. There was a vintage car rally going on that day in Laxey too.

Well I hope it’s a good day when we go up. Just been looking, at the summit are some fossil shells. I will point them out to Mrs Ash. She thinks they have been put there by somebody for a laugh or something :D
