    Hi there!
Anyone know if U.K. visit visas are currently being processed? I know is not a good time but I’m willing.
Also, do you know if marital status has any bearing on the result. For example being married but travelling alone to see U.K. friends?
    Thanks very much!

Anyone know if visit visas are being given? If Filipinos are allowed to travel to U.K.?

I honestly don't know, but the reality is that they are very hard to get even in normal times unless you have a wealth of reason for you to return home, and that includes independent real wealth in the Philippines, it is fairly easy for rich Filipino's to travel but a lot harder for those who are less well off, it is very sad and I for one don't like the unfair treatment of rich compared to poor.

There is still in place a global advisory against non essential international travel a visit would come under non essential!

Hi. After our second attempt my GF in the Philippines as been granted a 6 month visit visa. Woo-ooh. :like:
The application we created was very detailed. Took some time to prepare, but all good in the end.
I am UK resident and I’m the financial sponsor.
Next hurdle is immigration at Manila.
I hear of stories of offloading. We went on a holiday last year and met in Singapore with no issues.
Does anyone have any advice or experience of travelling to the UK on a visit visa having any immigration issues leaving Manila?
    Thank you

    Ok thanks.
Someone mentioned about needing some type of clearance from the CFO (Commission on Filipinos Overseas). I think this is just for spouse/fiancés/working visas, not visit for holiday??

Hi. Another question, to an avoid any offloading on a visit visa. Does my partner need an affidavit of support?

I've just been through the visit visa process. However my partner is Indonesian, rather than Filipino.

After I spoke to lawyers etc. and others who would help for a fee, and got confused. I just did it myself.

I had received some advice, and the biggest bit of advice was to make sure that you can evidence that the visitor has a strong reason to return to their country of origin. In my case we had a formal signed letter from a regional head of the government organisation that my partner works for detailing her formal period of external leave from her job and the date that she must return. Also, we described how she does not want to leave permanently until her son has graduated from Indonesia, and we included documents showing his registration at university.

The other thing that I was told was important is that UK officials looking at her application would want to see that she can afford the trip. As she, to be straightforward, simply couldn't afford the trip using her own resources, I included a specific document on financial arrangements giving in full detail our plans for her support while here (including that I will arrange a bank account for her and fund it), etc.

Something I read after the application but fortunately had covered was that applications where the sponsor has not yet met the applicant are looked at suspiciously. I had included a document 'evidence of relationship' including details of how we met, how and where we have met in person, and photos of us together. I had wondered if emphasising our relationship would be a bad thing as it may raise concern that she would not leave the UK at the end of the visit. However, given what I later read, I'm glad that we emphasised that.

Overall, our application included a lot of supporting documents of various types. I'm not sure if all of these were needed, or even read, but the result was that the visit visa was granted. If I remember correctly, she made the application at the location in Bali, it was two weeks before the application was sent to Jakarta. But, then it was about another week before her passport was available to pick up in Bali again with the visa in it. I can't remember the exact dates for all this (but can look them up if needed), but this was in May/June this year.

Entry into the UK (last Sunday) was very easy. No problems at all. No questions apart from the obvious 'why are you visiting the UK?' I was with her in the queue having flown with her.

I'm not sure how relevant this is, and I am concerned that I may annoy people if visit visas are easier for Indonesian citizens than for Philippine citizens. But, I hope this is in some way vaguely useful.

    Hi.
We already have the blessing from the UK with a visit visa. It’s the PI immigration that is the last hurdle.
We have lots of evidence of our relationship. Such as tons of photos, a holiday last year to Singapore. My financial proof and my home address etc.
I’m just trying to cover all bases. I know how the PI works were absolutely nothing am be assumed.
    Thanks

Ok thanks. Do I just find an immigration lawyer in UK to get something notarised?
