    Yeah.
Once I saw how long and protruding they were and thought "bl^&dy hell", that could do some damage to a human, let alone another rooster/cock

I have seen fights last seconds, over at the first strike.

This is where first aid comes in. Using a belt as a "tourniquet' stop the bleeding by tightening a belt around the thigh above the wound and elevate the leg if possible.
He was chief of police. R.I.P.

It's not the first time this has happened.

I saw a cockfight on Malapascua island back in 2008 and had to leave after a short while as it disgusted me.
They should be banned but I know people all over the Philippines enjoy their weekly dose of "gambling"

Does the "loosing" owner get to eat the chicken..?? Or winner takes all??

I wish they would be banned. Where I live I'm surrounded by them, every morning about 3.30 am they wake me up with their noise.

Part of the culture, when in Rome and all that, when I was based in peshawar there was a place just outside the city the pathans held dog and dog/bear fights.

    You are right, Druk1.

I didn't say anything when I saw the cock fights and I have had to turn a blind eye to many things in different countries.

I feel sorry for you, Jim, as their racket drove me up the wall when I was there too.

How long have you lived over there?
I am asking this because I have had occasions in life where noise was so annoying for a while, until the noise was so constant that I didn't hear it any more.

Nearly 4 years mike, during the day I don't noticed them even the one's at the back 3 meters away. Only in the early hours they annoy me, probably me being grumpy in the mornings

It is a bad problem there, Jim, and I don't know if there's a solution.

That and the interminable queuing in stores were my two bugbears about the Philippines.

    Best of luck there.

We are at the circle, the arrows point to the chickens and roosters, the top arrow house also owns dogs that start when the roosters start :D the owner of that one was Spanish but he died a few years ago it is just his wife that keeps the animals now.

I don't mind it too much but it drives Ana nuts and this is in suburbia in a nice subdivision :)

We're British, the best queuers (is that a word? :)) in the world, you should be proud of your ability to queue in the Philippines :D

Actually I don't mind that too much in the Hypermarkets either, with all the packers they employ they do get through the queues quite quick.

My problem was that I could not queue, Jim. I used to leave the department stores that sold clothes asap.
The hypermarkets selling food were ok as you said.

Yes, "queuers" is a word and it quite a ridiculous word too (came from the French language).
