    Hello,

it is down to the weight of the item

I sent a small package in the past and due to the weight it cost me over 50 quid.

Now we send FOREX Balikbayan boxes. £110/170 for any weight. So we fill hem with foods and stuff, tins, sweets, chocolate, ukay ukay clothes, small tools, electricals, toaster, kettle, panini contact grill , airfrier. and so on and so forth. Small stuff.
Trying to find a smallish microwave, already have a made up desktop pc to go, looking for a printer that doesn't use expensive ink

Look for a ciss system continuous ink system its the cheapest ink available, but you may have to send some on later. One fill of a ciss system tank typically lasts a year in all colours and there are a lot of printers that can be converted to ciss. Typically £5 a 200ml bottle for each colour. Cartridges are typjcally a rip off if removed and tilted or laid flat on their sides as this renders them useless. There are ink cartridge recharge reset modules available if you want to refil cartridges but its a messy game.

I have a printer in the Philippines Epson XP-435 From the UK ran out of ink, can't get any ink for that model. Is there a alternative ink I can use?

Amazon is awash with the stuff. Compatible, cheaper than original.
I have been buying it for eons for my WF2530
From time to time the primter reminds me that the ink is not original, but I click "continue" and all is honky dory again

You can't get Amazon in the Philippines Dom, which is a real shame, it is something I will miss when I finally move there.

Jim might be able to find some third party ink on Lazada or the likes.

He always could buy shed loads here, and the balikbayan box them over..........

We done it for an old HP printer few years ago.
But as usual they have, and retain, the nobel prize nominations for knackering things up in hardly any time at all.

Amazon is available in the Philippines and ships to provinces and cities nationwide. However, not all products on Amazon are eligible for delivery to the Philippines. The shipping fee on Amazon can cost around ₱500. Is it safe to order from Amazon to Philippines?

It's Amazon Global with shipping to the Philippines and the shipping is often a lot more than 500 peso.

That 500 peso reference is more than likely related to Amazon proxies companies acting as a middleman between you an Amazon.

The other issue with either is that you will pay US sales tax a lot of the time and possibly import taxes as well.

I have found that when in the Philippines I can access my UK Amazon account for things like my video library, items that I own, but I've never personally tried to purchase anything.

Without them setting up a regional operation with logistics and warehousing in the Philippines it's always going to be hard or expensive to use Amazon.

Thanks Jim, just had a look and...... Out of stock. Typical of the Philippines when I go to a store in town and ask for an item I often get the reply out of stock sir. Oh well I will have another look after Xmas.
Had another look, seen some more in stock. They're non genuine but looking at the reviews they work.

I had a similar problem with a HP printer that I bought in Dubai and took with me to Fils. Once the original printer cartridges ran out it was impossible to find replacements. The reason being that the print cartridges are region dependent and of course Dubai is different from Philippines. I did try purchasing from Lazada, said they were compatible with my printer model but they weren't. No doubt they were compatible with that model printer purchased in Fils, but not for a printer purchased in a different region.

When Amazon in the UK says something is compatible it generally is, you point out a major problem with Lazada and that is good.

I doubt that model standards are customised to that extent for individual devices like Printers, it would be excessively expensive to build for only the Philippine market.

On printers in general, I am perfectly happy to buy in the Phils, most electronics are the same price as the UK, in the past the UK was cheaper but in recent years a parity has developed regards most electronics.
