I hope they have more efficient planes which use less "A1" or "A" jet fuel before then as well as no contrails.

Yes - that was many years ago, but that wasn't the only reason she went there. Seeing her parents/family was the main reason.

I haven't been over there, or anywhere else for that matter, since 2013.

I try but she stood on my foot two days ago whilst we were loading the food into our car and we all know what happens when the same weight is concentrated on a narrow heel. :eek:o_O:confused:

From the Telegraph today. This makes a lot of difference to a lot of people wanting to book holidays to Europe. The travel industry has been waiting for this along with a lot of would be holiday makers.

Along with the scrapping of the PCR test requirement before departure back to the U.K.

“A negative lateral flow test, taken up to three days before your return home, will no longer be required from October 4 as long as you are fully vaccinated. This has been perhaps the most onerous and stressful requirement for returning to England. Not only did you have to arrange a time and place to take your test within the right time frame, you also had to pray it was negative. If a positive result flashed up on the test kit, you were faced with no choice but to pay for at least another 10 days' accommodation in your destination and, depending on local rules, were at risk of having to go into an isolation hotel. You couldn’t return home until a test came back negative.

From a purely psychological point of view, it was a major disincentive to travel and the removal will be universally welcomed by holidaymakers and the industry. It is yet to be decided whether this must be supervised in person or by video, but it will not be the free NHS lateral flow tests.”

This is another indicator that things are returning to pre-covid days.
We went to Tesco and Lidl yesterday and there seemed to be less face masks on show again.
My wife and I always wear ours and I don't know when we will stop doing this.

High 6degree of insistence on mask wearing in shops and public transport in Spain where we are.
A high degree e.g. fella ( local) gets on bus no mask driver boots him off, didn't understand the debate but I understood the remonstrations and end result

Four or five years time should be the goal after surviving actually getting Covid a couple of times, a couple of years worth of boosters plus some natural exposure should result in sufficient innate immunity to turn this into a bad cold or flu.

Just back from the doc, they called me to say they were ahead of schedule so I have a flu vaccine in a sore arm now :D

In the work one of our staff had covid last year and is double immunised now, that person is pretty safe to be around as their protection is higher than people who only got the vaccine, another's son tested positive the other week and her family will now likely have all been exposed but the vaccines worked for them so the chance is that their exposure has acted as a booster and again that person will be pretty safe to be around, a third management level staff member is now working from home because his daughter caught it and then his wife (double vaccinated) tested positive as well so hopefully when he comes back he will have been exposed and overcome it using his own immune system therefore another boosted individual.

It's everyone in my back office now that are potential spreaders including me and a couple of other management level folk upstairs.

I don't wear a mask during the day but all the windows are open, I do wear a mask when going from one room to another and when using the conference room or the loo, I would like to stop having to do this but there are still too many people who could spread it in the office.

I don’t wear a mask at all now. We did the other week on public transport.

The little one came home from school early on Friday with something. The dreaded c word sprang to mind immediately. Whatever it was came and went pretty quickly. I cant help but think I have been exposed to it on more than one occasion over the last 18 months, especially in the work environment ( where social distancing and precautions were typically atrocious). My worst cases of any form of respiratory infection came in several occasions from 2015 - 2018 and have never experienced them since.

Our trip to Spain at Christmas is still on. Holiday bookings are now going through the roof again now, apparently.
