    Hello members,
Please confirm that for a straightforward ILR visa application we need to apply online using form SET(M) and that black and white copies of supporting documentation will be accepted.
    Many thanks.

you will need to scan and upload your documents to the sopra steria site--who check them and get back to you if they are not acceptable.

I tend to agree with @Mattecube - upload documents as they come - although it does advise, on the Sopra Steria (SS) website, (to reduce file size of uploads) that files should be Black & White and either 150 or 300dpi resolution. I guess it partly depends upon how many pages any of your documents are.
From memory, I believe the size limit for any single document is 3MB.
We uploaded all documents in their original state - B&W or colour - at 600dpi, without any problems as far as we know (documents are currently with SS being checked, ready for my wife's biometric appointment this Friday).

Hi quick question.. so i have paid the fees for ILR got sent an email about registering at UKVCAS for biometrics there was 2 options for booking appointment standard appointment cost £112 is this the right 1 ? 2nd when does it ask me to upload the documents at the sorpa site ? And im assuming there is a fee for that also ?

Nearly there but just looking for some clarity thx

E2a.. i've skipped on a few weeks and most days are £112 but now found 2nd week in October free ??

You upload documents after booking the SS appointment - documents must be uploaded at least 2 days before the appointment if you want SS to check them.
Different SS offices seem to charge different prices for an appointment! You can pay for 'extras' at some offices. You don't pay extra to upload documents - only if you want SS to upload them or check them for you, before they are sent to UKVI.

So SS is the page I'm on now which basically is also biometrics ? Also when " scanning documents " say for example i got 26 weeks payslips in pdf format does it allow me to upload these or do i have to print then scan each 1 ?

    Tia...

E2a ok so I'm at the document scanning page

POD . The expired passport issued by Philippines for my wife do they want every page scanned I'm sure i read in the visa application originals were required ?

Yes. SS will do biometrics - fingerprints and photo - at the appointment.

In the example you give, you can upload PDF documents directly to SS. I presume as you have 26 payslips that you get paid weekly? You have to upload documents separately, unless you use an online service such as smallpdf.com to combine PDF pages - e.g. a 3-page bank statement is scanned as 3 separate pages, then combined into 1 document at smallpdf.com (other websites are available ). A bit difficult to explain step-by-step here, but if you need further help or clarification just ask again.

Sorry, I don't know what 'POD' is???

I wasn't sure about the passport when we did my wife's 2nd FLR(M) last week, so I just scanned and uploaded the biometrics/photo page and she took the original with her.

Hi i think with PDF's the site accepts all the pages as when i added a bank statement PDF it had 6 pages and once uploaded i could scroll through the seperate pages before hitting the final upload button..

In regards to category " Other " did you put you're wifes 6 examples of address/other documents to show we have been living together for last 2.5 years ?

    Thx again !

I honestly can't remember which documents we put in each 'Category' - that was one of the criticisms I had of the SS website! Apart from the first couple of Categories which specified Passport and BRP, there is no guidance on which documents go in which Categories. If you can list the Categories available to you, maybe it will 'jog my memory' on which documents we put where!!!

lucky to find a free one. We paid £85--which included checking uploads and even doing it for you on the day if needed.

I think some of it depends upon which 'type' of SS Service Centre you choose, or which is nearest to your location.
We paid £138 (plus £2 for text message/email updates) for an appointment that lasted less than 15 minutes, but included document checking before submission to UKVI and scanning of any failed documents. I guess for that price they would have scanned and uploaded ALL documents if we wanted them to?!

Hmmm strange if most pay a fee to pay i was surprised i may contact them to check if this is right i did see the " add-ons " section but didn't bother as everything seems straight forward as to what documents they need.... also where and when do i have to pay for biometrics? I'm just at uploading documents stage but no rush..

After you hit 'Send' on the online Visa form you will be directed to SS website to book appointment and pay. Have you paid your IHS fee yet (or maybe you don't pay IHS for an ILR application??? Not sure, as we are not at that stage yet)

I honestly can't remember the exact sequence, but if you think you have a confirmed appointment for biometrics I suggest checking your email - I can't see SS giving you an appointment before receiving payment!

My understanding is the fee includes on the day uploading and scanning if it is an enhanced service point..but not included at core center..whatever that is.
