Hi there, this is a list of the following documents that we used, please note that it maybe different for you if your depending on your circumstances.

NOTE: all documents were scanned copies and converted to PDF A4 also we removed all spaces and special characters within the naming and used Camel Case and uploaded using the VFS upload system and you don't need to use the scanned service or the document checking.

    • Marriage certificate
    • Fathers and wife's Birth certificate
    • Daughters birth certificate
    • Grandmother Birth certificate (of father British)
    • Fathers Passport
    • Grandmother Passport (of father British)
    • 2 months of Payslips
    • 3 months of Bank Statements
    • Tenancy Agreement
    • Council Tax letter
    • Hospital bills receipts for the birth
    • Document Checklist
    • Letter of Consent Signed by mother and father
    • Photos of us on wedding day, photos of wife pregnant and us with with baby. I tried to upload this but I couldn't as its a pdf file
    • Daughters Filipino passport (Original taken to VFS centre)
We got a decision quickly I think less then 1 week.

If you need anymore info or help your welcome to contact me.

    Letter of consent:

    DATE: 11/12/21

    To whom it may concern,

I, Anthony Shane Gibbs (Passport Number: xxxxxxx) am the father of Toyah Raye Joana D. Gibbs (Passport Number: xxxxxxx), I married Christie Marie Daborbor (Passport Number: xxxxxxx) on the 7th of Feb 2020 and baby Toyah was born on the 4th Dec 2020.

Me and my wife Christie hereby give our consent for Toyah Raye Joana D. Gibbs for the application for the Certificate of entitlement as I am a British Citizen born of a British mother and father.

We also both consent to the living arrangements in the UK where Toyah Raye will be staying.

When the Certificate of entitlement is approved I plan to apply for a spouse visa for my wife then they will both move to the UK to live with me so we can be together as a family..

I am currently renting a 2 bedroom apartment with my friend and I am also working so I can support them. I will include a copy of a current council tax letter, Tenancy agreement, my last 3 month's bank statements and a copy of my wage slips.

    My current address: xxxxxxx

As the parents of Toyah Raye, me and my wife are both legally responsible for her.

    Thank you for your attention

    Regards

    Hi mate

all the documents you have listed , did they ask for all of them , or did u send extra documents that weren’t asked for . I’m currently in Philippines until April , I’m just a bit worried if I submit my passport along with the documents that I won’t receive it bk in time . Also would you recommend apply for the certificate of entitlement or just apply for a UK passport when I return home for my daughter . I keep reading mixed views , some people say just go for the passport some people are saying apply for the COE. Then apply the passport , some people saying COE is a waste of money and should just apply for the passport . It’s all just confusing me on what’s best to do . Thanks for your help mate

I did allot of research on this and I was very careful. I made the conclusion that the COE would be the easiest route. As for your passport you don't need to worry, all documents would be photocopies, as you will need to scan them and upload them as PDF documents to the VFS system, this is very easy to do. The only document that needs to be original is your child's passport as they will need to add the certificate to it if it's approved.
I couldn't find a specific required document list for the COE but like I said I did lots of research and the documents I sent was based on that.

    Regards
    Anthony
