Hi everyone, I'm just basically looking for an immigration specialist. The good lady and I are starting the process of our mid application of a 5 yr route.
Seeing as the current climate is very different to the norm, I'd like to get some legal advice before we apply. So if anyone can recommend anyone I would be very greatful.

Many people on here have handled the applications themselves. Why don't you outline why you feel your case needs specialist advice and see what people say? None of the Appendix FM applications on the 5yr route are rocket science. You may not need to spend a penny.

Thanks but I am very worried about the pandemic affects on our application. Also I Fuxde up our last application and my wife ended up going back to the Philippines for a year!! We don't want any chance of that happening again. So I don't mind paying to make sure everything is okay.

Fair enough. Afraid I don't know anyone to recommend. Fwiw reading the blogs and the immigration notes tells me that covid has affected ukvi very little apart from that they will ignore a recent redundancy for example due to covid (so long as your earnings were enough before) and thag you might get more latitude with things like expired passports - and also some applications temporarily possible in country. However the core requirements have not changed. Covid isn't an excuse to skip key requirements. I hope you find a professional who will be helpful.

    Hi
Brutal honesty you've done the hard bit getting her here.
Yes you made some mistakes in original application but you got past them.
    Simple questions
    Have you adequate accomadation?
Do you meet the financial requirement?
Can she pass the next level of English test.
Are you in a position to demonstrate as required all of the above?
Answer yes to all 4 and your there!
Has she become a terrorist since arriving? No is a good answer here lol.
Immigration lawyers tend to tell you what you need to do and what info to collect, we can all help you on here with that.

As I say you've done the hard bit.

I would seriously agree with @Mattecube . There are lots of folks on here who have been on the whole journey and have submitted multiple visa applications. If there's nothing particularly challenging about your application there is no reason why you can't do it yourself. It's up to you but the help is here if you need it. Don't be intimidated.

I have done everything by myself, through the EU route (I am Italian), which was easier, but also did the 5 year residence permit for my wife, the Permanent Residence Card, and lately we successfully obtained full settlement rights in the UK.
I also helped my step=daughter with her original Family Permit and subsequently residence and Permanent residence.
I did not consult anybody but just read the guidance notes and followed them to the letter.

There is no need to spend extra money on advisors or Immigration lawyers if one has to gather all the evidence himself for them just to collate, slap in a fancy file folder and present it...

    Sirs
We are looking for legal advice in order to sell a property in Cebu. Is it best to do it through a UK based law firm ? or a Philippine law firm ? Can somebody who has already done a transaction similar reccommend the best way to do this. Also is there a website where we can post photos in the UK ? Your help would be greatfully appreciated.

I doubt you will find any legal company in the UK that has expertise on Philippine real estate law, I would expect any UK firm to hire the appropriate Philippine legal firm thereby just introducing a middleman.

However I would be concerned about trying to deal remotely with a Philippine law firm unless I had prior direct personal experience with them.

    Useful link!

When the poster previously asked about this back in 2018

    House for Sale

Markham replied with what would probably be a useful link and one which still appears valid Cebu Property Sales & Rentals – The Most Trusted Cebu City Real Estate Philippines (cebucityproperty.com) of course I can't vouch for them I have no idea who they are but it would be a place to potentially start.
