The airline company I booked this online with did not ask for any passport numbers

The airline will not ask to see anything to do with eTravel if using a British passport when departing the Phils (ie when used beforehand for purchasing the actual air ticket.
The airline WILL ask to see the eTravel confirmation when you/your children are returning to the Phils. For that I did use my boy's Filipino passport details, but upon arrival, Immigation didn't ask to see our QR codes anyway.

Really, it's the airlines who are careful about this, as they will have to pay a fine if landing a passenger who should not have been boarded in the first place. Hence, THEY check your eTravel QR code before you are allowed through to departures on your return journey to the Phils. Just fill out the online form 72 hours or less before your flight. Make sure the QR code comes up with a green (not red) background, and you're good to go. :like:

Having looked at this again, I'm puzzled. Maybe I'm missing something ? Erm.gif Even a booking agency will want your passport number/s, nevermind when booking direct with the airline (which I normally do), and certainly before issuing e-tickets.

I booked it with trip.com and they never asked for passport numbers. Anyway what you said is correct , I just used the kids British passports for the etravel but they did ask to see the kids Filipino passports also.

Going back to eTravel, just want to make sure I'm reading posts correctly. Me (UK Citizen living in UK), Wife (BRP and still on Philippine passport living with me) and our 9 month son (UK passport living with us) intend going to Philippines for 3 week vacation. Am I correct....my son and I require eTravel for arriving in Manila and will also need it if we travel internally - say we visit Cebu. But my wife does not require on arrival or while in Philippines. On the way home back to UK me and son will not require it but wife will?

When I traveled to the UK with my wife who only has a Filipino passport and my kids who have British and Filipino passports I just decided to complete the etravel for all of them. I selected ‘foreign’ passport (British passport) for the kids when completing it. I had no issues leaving the Philippines. You could do the same when arriving to the Philippines from the UK but it should really only be you who needs to do it. Basically they are not going to pull you up for completing the etravel when you didn’t really need to do it however if you don’t do it when you were supposed to then you will be delayed.

What about internal travel by plane and by ferry, is eTravel still required then?

I did not use a domestic flight so I can’t say for sure but there is a Filipino government website that’s states passengers are ‘compelled’ to use etravel for international and domestic flights.

This is all very confusing to me - I have a UK Passport... so when I leave Phils I do not need to do e-travel BUT when I return I do - seems to contradict the answer I get from Google:

When I left a week ago on Sunday no one asked for an eTravel form, they don't care on exit and I have to confess I forgot to do it.

Interestingly when I arrived a month ago about five planes all arrived and disembarked at the same time the immigration area was a nightmare I had 200 people at least in front of me, took an hour to process them all, one guy got to the desk and was being told there was a problem with his paperwork, turned out when he filled in his eTravel form he had filled it in as a departure not an arrival, there were only 2 officers on duty in the winding queue I was in and this guy held everyone up for ages while he reapplied on his phone.

And of course none of us are supposed to use our phone in immigration (naughty me :))

I had a nice chat with that family in front of me and the Fil-Am bloke to the left also a dutch chap and his wife behind me.

EVERYONE has to complete etravel when entering or leaving Philippines by international travel.
Etravel IS NOT required by anyone travelling internally within the country by domestic flights or by sea. ………… simples !

Yeah and no one checked if I had registered for eTravel on exiting the country on the 9th of July, they didn't care and I didn't have the paperwork on me.

I just hope I can remember to do it within the 72 hour time frame!

If you are doing it to enter the country it should be less than 72 hours before you arrive, if you do it exactly at 72 hours and your flight is late then you have a problem on arrival.

If you make a mistake and do it say 72 hours before your UK flight leaves then just do it again at the correct time you can fill it in multiple times without problems.

I'm doing the visa run - so out on 2nd (evening or afternoon) and back on 3rd morning ... hoping I can do it all in one go.

    WRONG.

Those travelling on non-Filipino passports do NOT need eTravel when LEAVING the Phils.... only when ENTERING.

...And yes, I did both, recently.

Internal travel ? Correct... eTravel not required.
