1972 and I heard "the music of the future" Neu!...…..

I was a lover of football and music, as many of my friends were. My Dad had lots of Beatles singles and there were some classical LP's in the house too. I had been brought up in Liverpool and football and music were obviously very popular there!
TV was mostly abysmal and in those days at school, you were either a skinhead wearing Doc Martins or someone with long hair wearing loons and/or denims. I fell into the latter category.

I went to a friend's house (Neil from Mold) with a few LP's and we chatted about music with his black light on. I'm still not sure what the black light was all about. This was before girlfriends were of any interest.
He heard something of mine he liked and vice-versa so we swapped LPs. The one I received was something that made him very sad but to me it was very intriguing.

So I got the bus home and listened to the following which was, dare I say, a taste of the future and the future became and echo of the past.

Neu! influenced many artists including Brian Eno, David Bowie and Talking Heads so I was among many off on the right track.
