If you plan to travel somewhere while you are in the Philippines AirAsia is the one of the low fare airline and it was giving me always the cheapest price compared to PAL and Cebu Pacific. But the problem is that it's almost always late so prepare for long waiting on the airport. On my last visit I even had a situation that I that I booked my return tickets to Manila 3 hours before my plane back to UK, but when I seen how it is late all the time I bought another ticket to be there lots of earlier. I was very lucky that I done it because later I received information (I don't remember if it was text message or email) that my flight is cancelled. Good job that I was already in Manila when I received this message.
AirAsia Philippines bears little relationship to its half-cousin, the point to point carrier, AirAsia, owned by the Malaysian Formula One enthusiast, Tony Fernandes. It's a little more than a rebranding exercise for the failure that was Zest but not by much. It's an ok airline if you're happy waiting around at an airport for a flight that might depart at some time on the day it is supposed to - its timetable is simply a wish list. And AirAsia isn't that cheap.
Think that all the low cost Philippine airlines are the same, unreliable. I would never rely on a low cost airline to connect with a same day long haul flight, whichever country I am in.
