    Why is it throwing up adverts that i dont want as soon as i try to open the screen?

    You must have uploaded some free app, that has adverts.

    It might be easier to do a factory reset

    settings > Application manager > choose the last you uploaded > click on it > uninstall > gone

    The problem is if you have installed some malware at some point. I like android but a factory reset and sometimes a clean rebuild is useful every so often. I don't side load any apps onto mine ( pixel 2 xl ) but there is so much bloatware out there.

    I was thinking: walk to kitchen >place phone in bin >walk to Argos> buy expensive iPhone you don't need with money you haven't got ☺️
