Hi everyone! Thanks to the British Filipino admins for approving me here. I have been married for close to 8 years to my Mahal who is British. I hope to meet and get to know more people and get to share experiences as we all somewhat have commonalities..having chosen to love someone who is not from our own country.... Cheers!!!

To asnwer your question, i think its the same with any marriages. Adjustment is a given even if you have married a fellow pinoy but if you share the same values and your truly love each other then you can easily overcome other minor stuff.

Getting involved with a Filipina was the last thing on my mind - it just kinda crept up on both of us.

Very glad we did! @inaroiles ;):)

I think it's mainly men posting on this forum, but you may find one or two other Filipina members happy to discuss what a pain in the neck their Brit partners are. :D

Personally, I was just happy to have met a pretty young lady who was daft enough to marry me.:like:

Well me and my Mrs just got chatting one day I didn't even know where she was from to start off with and here we are nearly a year and a half later I think it's a case if both of you have to inbrace each other's cultures

Welcome to the forum @carmen watkins! Newbie here as well.

Well, never in my life have I imagined that I'm gonna meet someone who's not from my country. But love really moves in mysterious ways, when my fiancé and I started chatting we just clicked and there's really a spark that you can't explain. And we fell in love just like that and now we're planning to get married.

I think it's how the two of you understand each other and trust each other. Its important that you understand each other's culture as well. It's not easy but with you working as a team and supporting each other then you can get through the tough times. I'm just glad that I met the love of my life, my best friend and my soul mate.

I'm happy that you've found the man for you. We all deserved someone that'll make us happy for the rest of our lives. :)

Understanding each others cultures? What even is that? In the end it's just two people.

I don't think either of us have much of a culture, to be honest, or if we do they must be pretty similar as I don't really notice any.

The only thing that I can see that maybe some British people might find odd is the sending of money to The Philippines, but it's her money so it's up to her really.
