My MP's office received an email from the MP Account Management Team at UKVI last week.

"According to our record of 31 August, the application is awaiting Entry Clearance Officer assessment. We sent the following email to the applicant advising her that we may not meet the service standard of three months if enquiries need to be made. Although we cannot give a timescale at this stage, please reassure the applicant that every effort will be made to deal with the case as efficiently and quickly as possible"

As usual very generic and could apply to anyone!!

Try to leave your fingers alone!! I'm sure the other half would prefer to come to the UK and have her hubby with his fingers still intact!

Ive just realised...ive been so focused on the visa application I have no idea what we need to do when she arrives. Her entry visa expires after a month obviously but when she arrives in the UK then what does she need to stay for 2.5 years?
Excuse the stupid question..i cant believe i dont know.o_O

I’ve applied last year in October and granted spouse visa in January this year. It took me almost 3 months of waiting. I submitted marriage cert, UKVI IELTS passed score, Tuberculosis test, 6mo payslips/employment cert showing 18600£ income as required, house council tax, bills and pictures, photos together, flight and hotels we went together, fb/chat convo, and reference letters from family and friends proving we’ve known each other for more than 2 years. I flew to the UK 2 weeks after visa was approved as it would expire after a month only. When I arrived in England, I claimed my BRP at local post office. Instructions and address was written in the letter along with granted visa.

hi Everyone. Reading all the posts about the delays of visa applications, I am very tempted to make my spouse visa application here in the UK. I am on a Family long term visit visa, 180days duration of stay. Will they accept the application? I just feel so bad that I have to risk 1500£ in case they refuse the application. Please help, I have two young children, my son is in nursery and would be so upsetting to take him with me to the Phil., God knows how long we have to wait there if I decide to do the application in the Phil. We meet the financial requirement, husband works offshore so can't look after the kids while I'm away, we have all the documents, pretty much straightforward tbh. The only reason I'm having doubts is I am on family VISIT visa. But it says on their website, can't apply within the UK if validity of visa in 6 months or less, or visit visa. my visa is valid until 2019, however it is still a VISIT visa. :(

Cheers guys for all the love and support...i think we hold the current record at 124 days lol. ..i really do hope we wont be beaten any time soon.
Shiela knows what to do when she gets to the UK she had a letter with instructions.
One thing we didnt know and it does not say in the letter, my solicitor recommended taking the TB test cert with her as well as they may ask to see it at the airport. Not sure if anyone else has been asked for this. Due to the long delay in the visa, her original TB test has expired...I suppose she will need to update first before travel?

Hi Bigmac, my husband works here in the UK (offshore, rotation) this makes it hard for me to leave the country as my son just started school. If i go back to the pHil, the uncertainty of when I could get back is upsetting. It would be so unfair to bring my son and he skips his school for God knows how long.
