I read that at least two different applicants were told their documents were missing hence the delay. One asked their MP for help and when the MP got in touch with the HO, the missing document was magically found. Take that as you will. I just hope they're processing our applications now. This entire experience has been exasperating.

As I have previously said, I do not trust them to tell us the truth.
If these people with allegedly missing documents are having their documents processed, and they paid priority. It should be a 10 working day wait at most before they get the passports back.
If they don't , we then know they have been lied to.

Applied 2nd June and it's been more than 10 working days now. Will have to fly back to UK next week and have to change the notice appointment as my fiancee won't get here in time. The guys at VFS in VIP lounge even said it will be processed in 10 days. What a joke.

Laat saturday i emailed Ukvi cause i really wanted to know te status of my application although i apply standard route but im still curious if they even look the application whos using standard and today they reply my email..

    Dear Sir or Madam

Thank you for your e-mail dated 17/06/2017. I am sorry for the delay in replying to your e-mail.

Regarding the application status of your visa is that it is currently awaiting a decision.

Please note the onus is upon individual customers to ensure that they satisfy the requirements set out in the guidance material. The guidance material accompanies each and every application form. UK Visas and Immigration is not able to give, indicate or advise upon the outcome of any such application prior to it being given full and careful consideration.

Applicants from April have yet to hear back. If you applied later than that, chances are you're not going to hear about your application for a while unless the UKVI does something about the delays. Also, I noticed inquirers get only three kinds of replies:

    1) Your application is currently awaiting a decision. (No current update.)
    2) Some of your documents are missing.
    3) Further investigation is being conducted.

Take these with a grain of salt. It's possible they're just buying time and covering up the fact that the delay is on them. I've not seen a transparent reply that mentions the backlog. They always make it sound like a delayed application is an isolated incident.

This is a standard response i had the exact same email when myeslf and my wife emailed them at the beginning of May...treat it with the contemp it deserves...
We are on working day 49 now and not heard yet and we were priority!!
Im hoping it wont he long now as they have requested "missing" documents that were provided. They contacted my solicitor which im pleased about. Hopefully it is being looked at anyway.

Anyone heard from UKVI? I have emailed them again I few days ago and got the same response saying my application is being processed but they have not made a decision yet. How long does it bloody take to make a decision? Is it that complicated to make a decision if all the requirements were met? (Pardon my language)

this is ever since the new arrangement to send stuff to sheffield--this has happened. some guys paid the £500 extra for priority service--weeks ago.

i dont know if the applications are handled at sheffield now---and how many countries are being dealt with there.

or maybe its a way for the goverment to reduce immigration...just sit on a big pile of applications for who knows how long.

What?! What if I am applying in the UK? Can I not go direct to Croydon and find out on the day?

I just received an email from UKVI a hour ago saying they have not received Appendix 2 of my application and wants it emailed to them within 5 working days. We were annoyed earlier but I've realised it won't change anything so we'll just email them the documents tomorrow. Did you solicitor send all your documents or just the ones they've lost? It's annoying how irresponsible they are though (VFS and UKVI). They introduced this scanning service who is not cheap giving assurance that it is better than posting the letter to Sheffield. Makes you wonder who is at fault? Is it VFS who can't seem to do the right thing or UKVI. Arrgghhh

I think it will take 60 working days still as all applications are now being handled by Sheffield. I was once told by a Solicitor to use the standard service as the priority service is just a waste of money. But then again don't take my word for it. All I know is that it is best to post the documents to Sheffield (after scanning it) than opting for the scanning service at VFS as it is a waste of money and time.

Seriously, how can they lose something in the scanned application pack? They should be asking VFS not you. I'm really not buying it. This whole "we lost your documents" excuse is just a ploy to buy them time.

It is really annoying. If it's just the missing documents that they need then they should be able to make a decision right away after receiving it. However, Matt P is still waiting for theirs after sending the 'missing documents'. Rubbish! I was thinking of sending them an email telling them how disappointing they are but I thought best not and just comply as they might delay my application more. Have you heard anything from them, btw?

you can for FLR. we did. but not for the initial spouse / fiancee or dependant child visa. but they have to apply outside the UK anyway.

Yeah you're right, it's best to just comply. No I've not heard anything from them. I'm just waiting for Day 60 then we'll send a letter to my partner's MP who's been prompt and helpful. I suggest you do the same if you are made to wait even longer.

I'll see how it goes after I've submitted the 'missing documents'. However, we'll start looking for my husbands local MP's number in case. Thanks for the tip @Numpters, I really appreciate it.
