    Hi All,
has anyone used GOMO sim card in PH.... want to ask what the coverage is like?
will be going around, but not limited too, the Santa Cruz, Laguna area so what the data for maps.

They seem to have great deals for data, which I presume can be used for google mapping and other stuff, but as usual sceptical about the "great" deal as may find coverage is thin or non existent..

    Sorry no idea about "GOMO".
We always used "SMART" when over there and that seemed to work well.

Data is not so expensive in the Philippines now, at least is was not expensive the last time I was there in December 2019, like Mike I use SMART, my Smart SIM is in my old Nokia and has been roaming ever since I left the Phils on Jan 1st 2020 and I've had the number for about 5 years now.

Smart and Globe here... and some places Smart works and some places it doesn't and more or less the same for Globe...although it's rapidly getting better.

Never heard of GOMO .... :)

Actually, I saw a GOMO card advertised on Shopee today - so they probably do work here in some places!

What do people use to phone the UK from philippines? I'm currently in Philippines and halifax has blocked my card due to fraud suspicions. I spent 200 pound on the phone just to have them hang up on me. Any ideas as I need to phone them but there is always a massive queue, 2 hours+.

    I use Globe IDD...

Works fine for me but you can get caught out because it runs out while you're waiting for the UK end to answer!

Then they cut you off and you try again - another option might be to feign deafness:

Halifax Textphone number for hearing impaired customers 0800 056 7294 (9am-5.00pm, 7 days a week) - not actually a problem for me :D

    Even more options:

Does Halifax have an online chat?

Our BSL SignVideo service gives you a video chat link to chat to one of our advisers. This is open Monday to Friday 9am–5pm. There are instructions on how to use it there in BSL. You can use SignVideo from your PC, tablet or mobile phone.
